Meh. It is classic Tom Herman and I don't have a problem with it. He is very detail oriented and it is a way to address an issue with an entire group of players at one time. The whole "bad teammate" angle wouldn't work on me, but I am also not 18-19 years old.
Big pickup for Herman today in Casey Thompson, 4* Dual Threat QB out of Oklahoma. #1 QB out of Oklahoma with offers from Arizona State, UH, Louisville, Miami, Ohio State, OU, OkSt., PSU, VaTech, West Virginia. Also didn't see posted but we also got 4* OLB in Byron Hobbs last week. 3rd ranked OLB in Texas with offers from TCU, Arky, Nebraska, OU, Ole Miss, A&M, and OkSt.
Not a real fan of Thompson, I don't think he is anything special. Hobbs is a good get though. He is mostly viewed as a 3 star recruit but I think he can be a solid starter for a few years.
His sophomore tape looked good but haven't gotten a chance to see much more than that. Doesn't seem like a very strong QB class for both the state and Nationally speaking.
Nice to have news like this. He is the son of a OU QB so they might push for him during the season. Hope has to be that UT can compete with OU this year. Kyler Murray will be a junior next year so I'm not sure there is much to worry about with QB competition at OU. Good news is that he plans to be an early enrollee which makes it less likely that he'll de-commit during the season but you never know. It looks like he'll start pushing other recruits to come to Texas which is always good. Via 247:
He is also younger brother of former OU QB Paul Thompson. But word is that they really like their current QB commit out of Cali and weren't pushing for Thompson much, if at all.
Donny, I just wanted to let you know that I am currently maintaining Champion Level Hydration. I will continue to do this (except for that first one in the morning) all weekend. I will do my best to not be a bad or selfish bbs teammate, no matter how much I drink over the holiday. You can keep your mind at ease.
