The smashmouth football is back in Austin and it feels good. Theres a different vibe to this team and its gonna be a good year.
Agreed! Love the way we look so far, but I will play devil's advocate for a bit. ND has a lot of distractions coming into the game plus switching the two QB's. We're playing a revenge game that we no doubt had circled since last year's beatdown. It's just week one and preseason rankings usually mean squat. I would like to see our defense get some pressure up front. Our O-line is winning in the trenches, but can't say the same about our D-line so far.
Richest program, yes. Most talent rich? Florida and California might have something to say about that.
Texas has more talent than Florida and California overall. It changes some years, but for the most part this state has more talent than both. It might be the most competitive recruiting state in the country given all the top programs who come into this state to leech the best talent. Seems to be getting more and more competitive as the years go on. California is too, but not on the level of Texas. Same goes with Florida.
What has this gotten them lately? Based solely on what you said, it "should" be the #1 destination for college coaches, right? But it isn't. I don't want to distract the thread, but the sense of entitlement stinks. This is one reason a guy like Tom Herman doesn't fit there IMO.
If A_3PO keeps it up I'm gonna warm you up like this bruh. Chill out. BTW Google. Herman has told more than one soul Texas is his dream job. I'd like to see Strong keep his job as it means Texas probably made the playoffs. Don't really care, enjoying this game.
Good. Texas should be aiming higher than someone who has been unproven thus far. Maybe if he gets to play in a national title game, they can start looking in that direction.
Those 14 points were too easy for Notre Dame. Gotta keep the pressure up by getting first downs to at least get good defensive field position.
Don't be silly. He is not unproven. When you look at his success at Ohio State, and then what he's done at UH, he's proven he is a good coach. Now, back to the game. It's getting interesting again.
