So did Boyd commit to A&M? He had a Gigem status out of nowhere. It's funny how much attention these guys get and how they enjoy being the bell of the ball and wined and dined. Then as soon as they commit they're a cog and have to get their asses to work and no one cares about them again until they earn it on the field.
I think it's partially this but we're also dealing with 16 to 18 year old kids here, they should be allowed to change their mind and I don't blame them for it. Also, I'm sure part of it is on the coaches, wouldn't be surprised to here "Of course Coach X will be on staff next year" or "I promise we won't recruit another QB this year" and stuff like that changes as well.
They realize that. This is the only time in their life people will hang on every word, tweet or instagram photo. The attention must be intoxicating and brings out the silliness in some of these guys.
Absolutely agree. These kids worked really hard too and are 10 in 10,000. Still seemed silly to be following these kids tweets but it at least gives me something to be invested in right now. This was from Du'Vonta Lampkin. He's a current commit. He's hanging out with Soso Jamabo, Daylon Mack and about 6 other guys that is a collection of current commits and non-commits.

Honestly. Would not even be mad if this was the most sophisticated troll job in history. Another thing that would be funny is if Murray commits and then is drafted high in the MLB draft and leaves to play baseball. Womp Womp.
Saw Jefferson, Mack, and Strong at the UT basketball game. A bunch of students were telling Mack how much we want him. Lol
No surprise here. Gentry flips to Michigan. Harbaugh making a difference. http://michigan.247sports.com/Article/Zach-Gentry-Commits-To-Michigan-35030828
Since Strong is selling integrity, isn't it a bad look for him to promise a QB he would be the guy and then start trying to flip a bigger name? Or is that just part of the game?
Integrity?? really? He has no integrity because he's recruiting the number QB prospect in texas? Seriously man, it's not THAT serious.

The kid has to do what he thinks is best for his future. Personally I would love to have him at UT but I wish him luck going forward.

It's a little more nuanced than that. Strong wants the offense to be better next season, and the QB will most likely be Jerrod Heard. Heard fits a spread offense much better than a pro-style offense. Conversely, Gentry fits a pro-style offense better, and Harbaugh is one of the best at running it. It could be that Strong trusts Heard and is willing to hand him the QB position, but that's to be seen.
No coach just locks in on one guy as "the guy". That'd be silly and an easy way to get complacent. You always want competition and the better players actually earning their spot. He might give one guy the inside track over others, but it's misguided to not at least target guys you think are more talented because of some token recruiting pitch.
All indications are that UT is going to go to a spread offense. Having said that, I fully believe that if Kyler flips to UT then he is the starter the day he walks in the door.
Just to be clear, Zach did not flip because of the Kevin Murray visit last week.

Zach de-committed from Texas a week ago, he said. He chose to keep it quiet, however. Longhorns' last-ditch attempts failed.
— James Yodice (@JamesDYodice) January 25, 2015
If you search around you will see that there are multiple sources that claim Zach was heading out the door prior to the Kevin Murray news becoming public. More than anything, UT going from a pro style offense to a spread offense is what changed his mind.
