Position coaches have a huge impact on recruiting. Hence UT losing 3 DTs the day after Bo Davis (UT DT coach) moves to USC.
And one of Saban's top recruits, Christian Miller, just opened up his recruitment after Rumph left. Still think position coaches don't mean anything?
LOL when did I ever say they "don't mean anything"?. I just stated there were other factors to consider when it comes to his "owning of the southeast".

Info on Robinson Info on Vaughn I like both hires, especially Vaughn, who has experience being a recruiting coordinator at Ole Miss and Arkansas under Houston Nutt
This is yesterdays news but I didn't see it posted anywhere. 4 Star Defensive Tackle Poona Ford de-commits from Louisville and plans visit to UT on Jan 17th. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1918508-4-star-dt-poona-ford-decommits-from-louisville
I would if the Rumph hire would have kept Zaycoven Henderson committed to Texas. This is where the "We're Texas" power comes from. I'm willing to bet that Texas will have the highest paid staff in football.
National signing day is not until February 5, so I would assume he might get another call from UT in the coming days to see if playing for Charlie Strong, Vance Bedford (Defensive Coordinator, former UT player) and Chris Rumph (former DL coach for Bama during their peak defensive years) might appeal to him enough to reconsider his decision. He is a defensive line player so you would think he would ask himself if he really wants to play for an offensive minded coach (Kevin Sumlin) that has yet to figure out that teams are allowed to play defense in college. Or he can play with coaches that have produced some of the very best college defenses over the last 15 years. I wouldn't count him out just yet even though he gave A&M a verbal (via twitter) a few days ago. Furthermore, Poonah Ford and Chris Nelson (both defensive tackles) have decommitted from Louisville and are planning on visiting UT in the coming days. So while it would be nice if Zaycoven Henderson reconsidered his choice and recommit to UT, its probably not going to be that huge of a loss. I will take Ford & Nelson with the UT defensive coaches any day of the week over Zaycoven Henderson and the A&M defensive coaches.
OB is reporting we got Wickline. If true, that is HUGE. He is one of, if not the, best OL coaches in college fb
As it's been rumored: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Texas&src=hash">#Texas</a> has hired former Oklahoma State OL coach Joe Wickline, per a source.</p>— Rand Getlin (@Rand_Getlin) <a href="https://twitter.com/Rand_Getlin/statuses/422456092040241152">January 12, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Wickline is a huge get. We should be hearing about the OC soon. The staff is meeting with team for the first time tonight.
Sounds like Watson is gonna be the QB coach and will be a co-OC with Wickline. Wyatt retained as WR coach. Not sure what I think about this.

http://blogs.courier-journal.com/re...ouisville-staff-isnt-honoring-his-commitment/ Former Texas commit Daniel Gresham (FB) is rejected by Louisville. I've never heard of a school pulling a scholarship offer. Totally possible he follows strong to Texas but not sure if that situation will be awkward for him.
