Crazy game watching in between the Astros. USC almost lost but got reversed on an out of bounds play, Lienart scored, USC scores winning drive.

3 seconds left, Notre Dame down 3.

How f**king lucky can USC get?!? Leinart gets stuffed at the goal line with no time outs, game over right? No, he fumbles out of bounds, you have to be kidding me.

Man that was a great game. I applaud USC for going for the win instead of trying to be conservative

When Leinart fumbled the ball, that spot was not at the 1 foot line.

apparently how ever ****ing lucky they need. that 4th and 9 pass just barely made it through the ND defender then the refs give U$C another shot at the win after leinart basically ****ed his team by being stopped, and then leinart gets stopped on the sneak and somehow rolls off the pile for the push to get in the EZ. pathetic D by notre dame from the moment i got in the house to watch. somehow hold them to 21 for 3.5 quarters then just roll over.

and who didn't know usc would somehow escape that 3rd and 19?

I think UT is the number 1 team in the country.....they would crush USC.

that's seriously about as weak a way you can win a game as possible. it's one thing to step up and make a big play like that 4th and 9 but when you screw up, go for the run w/ no TO's and get stopped and for some reason you do something that usually sucks (fumble) and it saves the game for you, it's complete BS.

    they better lose some votes.

    Pac 10 refs.

Weis was pretty calm considering he just got bent over. Is there any doubt USC would have protested the game had the refs not added time?

Holy Crap! How good was that! Picture in picture of both; swapping between pitches and plays....When I thought ND won I was grinning from ear to ear.

But SC's win is historic, setting up and epic Rose Bowl.
    (The Horns can take 'em!)

    October is a good month.

Ya it was like the 2-3 yard line. They probaly would have kicked a FG. This game should be in OT...

The ball should have been spotted WHERE it went out of bounds...could have been as far back as the 5 or 6 yard line...it went flying backwards out of his hands.

    The Refs....screwed ND...should be in Overtime...right now.

If somehow the horns can win out and hold down Virginia Tech (controversy blooming), I rather the Horns face USC at this point just based on how V. Tech is looking right now. They're crushing people just like UT was.

This was the best game of the year so far. Penn State vs. Mich seemed like fun too but I didnt get it so... Anyways Charlie Weis really is a genius, my heart is still thumping, and Notre Dame should have won. Matt Leinhart closed his eyes, went limp, and woke up in the end zone after a bad spot!!!!!! Whatever. Great game though.

you're right Bob, they were stout those last two drives. i apologize. 14 points on 2 drives is salty. and no one ever talks out of emotion either.

my question is why does the clock stop on a fumble out of bounds? isn't that like getting your progress stopped in bounds (in which case the clock runs)? if you were in the middle of the field could you just throw the ball out of bounds and stop the clock (if you throw it backwards)? i'm guessing you can't but for some reason you can stop it in this case. leinart screwed up and should've lost the game for his team, and now he just said "we don't know how to lose, it's not in our nature." BS, you figured out how to lose plenty fine, you got lucky. and then he said ND got a lot of calls. classy in victory matt.

edit: wow, robert smith just asked the exact same question on espnews about throwing it out of bounds on purpose.

Reggie Bush helped push Leinhart in, the TD should have been waived off. I hate USC. They are the most overrated ass-hammers on the planet. They will lose before the national title game.

USC just beat Notre Dame in South Bend. ND was about as geeked up as humanly possible for a football game, and USC took them down. USC is still the undisputed best team in America.

Bad move with the Green jersey. Ty Willingham got owned by BC when he broke out the Green in 2002. Now Weis eats this one too.

Great game. I would move ND up the polls after this one.

They still have to play Cal and UCLA. And Va Tech still plays Miami and an ACC title game, I think. And that would be against Florida St. I am rooting for UT, of course, and Bama. Bama still has to play Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, and possibly Georgia in the SEC Championship should they win out. Tough road.
