Isn't he like the opposite of what we need at the 4? He's a worse shooter than Jones.

At the very least, it keeps Gasol away from Oklahoma City and San Antonio. That is probably enough incentive by itself. Maybe this was also agreed to along with the Lin trade.

The Bulls quickly moved on, working to finalize an agreement with Pau Gasol. League sources said a sign-and-trade acquisition has been discussed with the Lakers in order for the Bulls to land the All-Star center from Spain. Though the Lakers would have to nimbly execute several transactions that started with Friday's agreement to trade for the Rockets' Jeremy Lin, a league source indicated the Bulls have discussed sending Mike Dunleavy and the non-guaranteed contracts of Mike James, Lou Amundsen and Ronnie Brewer to the Lakers. I know I'm not the only one with a hatred for Boozer from his Jazz days.

Boozer would mean being competitive this season AND having serious space for a max guy in 2015. Not a bad move imo, even more so if we can snatch one more guy away from CHI.

I'd be happy with Boozer. He's still a productive player.

If we take Boozer they need to give us a sweetener as well. That would probably be Mirotic. Dunleavy wouldn't really count as a sweetener, but would be nice to add. Gibson and Butler would be the real prices (next to Mirotic). If we could get one of those 3 I'd be happy, if we can get two of them I'd be ecstatic.

Gibson would be a pipedream - almost as good as getting Bosh in terms of contract/value/production.

Butler would be a godsend at the 2/3 off the bench.

Dunleavy would be nice off the bench.

Boozer would be the most meh consolation prize ever. Good offensively and a solid rebounder, but really not better than TJones.

roe4christ said decisions today would be made w/ defense in mind.
