I would call the TV media and talk about it, there is a story there, and the Rockets are very sensitive to negative publicity.

Let's start up a sister site, ClutchBans.net, and do nothing but bash this awful decision.

    Ugh.

What a way to dampen excitement for what promises to be a terrific season.

    My email to Rockets.com:

I am very disappointed with your decision to bar ClutchFans.com from media day and training camp. ClutchFans is more than a website – it is a collection of thousands of the Rockets’ most loyal fans. As such, when you keep ClutchFans at arm’s length, you’re actually pushing your most loyal customers away. If you think that doing this will improve traffic at your own whitewashed website, you are sadly mistaken.

Chance can you comment on this situation? Does Sports Radio 610 have a problem with ClutchFans having access to media day and training camp?

    Matt J,

time to step up and help us out here on the site. Either help us get in or get us the daily updates somehow!!

I honestly can't believe this. It just doesn't even make sense. What kind of corporation refuses free publicity that is generally positive? Even when it's critical it should be viewed as an asset. I just don't know what to say about this except that I am willing to support Clutchfans.net in any way I can. I'll sign petitions, participate in boycotts, plant explosives.... ok, so I won't actually plant explosives, but you get the idea.

    This is just baffling.

This is utter BS. I feel as though clutchfans.net has been stabbed in the back for daring to love the Rockets too much. I can't freaking believe this and I cannot begin to put into words how mad I am.

Sorry they had to treat you (and the rest of us) this way Clutch. Keep up the good work!!!

Here's the text of the email I just sent:

    Dear Rockets:

Banning ClutchFans.net from the Rockets training camp is a public relations mistake of monumental proportion. Don't you realize that the Houston Rockets benefit from having the best Fan site on the internet dedicated to the team? The Rockets benefit tremendously from the site, and the owners of Clutchfans.net ask for nothing in return. Clutchfans.net is the best source for Rockets game information, statistics, and all things Rockets related. The site has helped facilitate discussion and comraderie among Rockets fans throughout the world. Clutchfans.net even helped get public support behind the construction of the Toyota Center. Banning Clutchfans.net from training camp is a slap in the face to fans who have been loyal to the Rockets for years. Don't turn into the Clippers...let Clutchfans.net cover training camp!

    Sincerely

RocketMan Tex...a proud member of ClutchFans.net since 1996!

Damn straight man, it's a travesty! It's a sham! It's a mockery of all our love for the Rockets.

    It's a travestashammockery!

The Rockets have always had a history of treating people right...maybe even too right (see Maloney, Norris, etc). I hope they realized that some fans follow and like the Rockets because of the who they are (were).

This is a sad day to see the new true Rocket colors.

Contact these local channels. The more emails and phone calls they get the more likely they are to do a story this evening. We know the Rockets don't like bad press so this may help. If we keep emailing the Rockets and only the Rockets they can just sweep it under the rug and not worry about the bad press.

    Somebody please...

What is Jonathan Feign's email address at the chronicle?

What is Mark Berman's email address at Fox 26?

We should ALL email those two - especially Berman!
