Brown is one of the best Left Tackles in the game. Foster is still one of the best running backs in the NFL. He was doing good before the injury. Nuk will be big for us this season. His rookie campaign was pretty good. Nagging injuries plagued Joseph last season. He is healthy and ready to go. He is also better than K-Jax.
For the Texans to make the playoffs they may have to win the division and Indy has the easiest schedule in the NFL followed by Tennessee. Brown and Foster have never been good without the zone blocking scheme and Kubiak's play action passing plays. Both Foster and Brown are question marks (Foster more so with his injury history) with O'Brien. AJ is the only "sure thing" on offense we can point to. J-Jo hasn't been healthy since his 1st year here and I not only said K-Jax is better than J-Jo _ I said he's the second best player on the defense... And that's scary.
Tennessee is not better than us. Brown is still one of the best tackles in the business. And its not because of the zone blocking scheme. He is very dominant in pass protection. Last season was the only season he gave up more than 5 sacks. Dude is a monster Remii. Jax is our third best defensive player.
Exactly, and that's the only time we've seen Brown be a dominant pass blocker is when Foster was running at his best and the Texans would prodminatly use play action in their pass attempts. When Foster wasn't playing last season _ Brown didn't look so elite. Brown and Foster excelled in Kubiak's system. Maybe they will in O'Brien's system... We shall see. K-Jax being the 2nd or 3rd best player on the defense. Is a very scary thought.
Remii he was injured bro that is why he didn't look dominant. It had nothing to do with Foster. Dude is the best pass blocking tackle in the business.
As annoying as Andre's holdout has been, at least he's not self-destructing like Josh Gordon is, he just got popped for a DUI last night
That's right now but we have players that might be good. So lets wait until the halfway mark and revisit this topic.
Isn't that kind of like saying Tom Brady has never been good without Bill Belichick? Just because they were successful in one system doesn't mean they can't or won't be successful in another.
We will find out if Foster and Brown are really elite, or are they just a product of the Shanahan/Kubiak system. We face the NFC east in the 1st half of the season and all 4 of those teams have potent offenses. We also face Luck and Big Ben in the 1st half of the season as well along with a P'd off Matt Schaub and I believe we're only facing one 1st time head coach during that stretch. Those are super bowl and playoff quarterbacks with experienced head coaches and the Texans 2nd best defensive player is Kareem Jackson. By the halfway mark we may be discussing the draft and arguing over who's better between Winston and Mariota.
Not really because we've seen Brady play with different OC's in different offenses. We've also never seen Belichick have too much success without Brady. Matt Flynn and Donovan McNabb may be better examples. You also have the Clinton Portis comparison as well.
I can't wait till some football is actually being played so that this Chicken Little nonsense will stop.
All those teams are not good. What did the Skins, Giants do last season Remii. And the Cowboys have been mediocre for 18 years. Or we all will be talking playoffs because our record could be 6-2.
People are going to see things differently than you see them. It's a web forum. If differing opinions bother you, this probably isn't the place for you. Questioning a team coming off a 2-14 season is hardly "Chicken Little nonsense."
What did the Texans do last season beside lose 14 straight games Baller...??? I "hope" you're right, but I'm looking at 2-7 by the bye week. We have 5 road games during those 1st 9 games as well. That's a tough stretch for a 1st time head coach _ with no right tackle and Fitzpatrick as his quarterback.
Vegas believes we'll more than triple our win total? How my!! 1. He does along with those other factors. 2. Doesn't need to be 100 to be massive improvement over his replacement. 3. Fitz has never thrown as many as Matty did last season. 4. True. It's also possible NFC East could regress more. Cowboys' defense has already suffered major injury. Giants are minus Nicks. 5. Time will tell, Vegas seems to think BOB > Pubes.
Exactly. At least we will know what we have - a lot of talent and a coach to guide them, or a lot of holes that need to be filled in the next off season. To me, the only thing we have for certain is a general manager that can't be trusted. If we do end up needing more talent, then GM should be the first guy replaced.
