Looks the same to me. If the Rockets are getting a different jersey cut, then Johnson has last year's jersey.
The Spurs, Celtics, Bulls, Lakers know what's up - you keep the classic jersey because it is part of your identity - a big part. Even if you change a bit, you don't turn your back on them completely as if they never existed, like the Rockets are doing now. Shame. When the Rockets wheeled out those ugly blue/red/white ones in '95 after the championship, Bill Walton was asked about the new units and said, 'You don't change when your'e winning'. All for a couple of lousy buck$. Fools.
It is the clothes that make the man. That's why Dwight will never look like Akeem or Moses in the red and gold. Harden will never look like Clyde or Lloyd, Floyd or Wiggins. They ain't got the threads. They're going to look like some bad photoshop BS from overseas. Cheapening of the brand. 'Hey, we got red/white and blue uniforms! We're America's team!' 'Hey, we got Oriental looking logs and *****! We're China's team!' What a bunch of cheap BS on Les' part.
Hard to tell from the pictures available....It does look slimmer to me, but it could just be a difference in size. However, Johnson would be wearing a larger size, not smaller. It also looks like Johnson may be stretching a bit more than Canaan was. I dont think we should be expecting a drastic change in cut. Perhaps that's why they deleted the story. They didn't want fans to get overly excited and then be disappointed. They didn't really mention the last time they changed the cut either. Maybe Clutch got a better view.
The jersey itself might be smaller. Canaan might have been holding up a bigger jersey than he would wear. I mean, he's not going to be wearing it. It might have been bigger just for show. Because the cut of the jersey looks exactly the same.
Jersey looks slimmer to me. Biggest difference is the size of the arm holes. Looks like the jerseys will have a much better fit this season.
If we were to unveil a new Uniform style for the upcoming season, it certainly wouldn't be at today's event.
Maybe, but i believe they go back to the practice court and take some shots of them in uniform after the press conference, so they'd want it to fit.
If it was a jersey for next season, the NBA logo would be on the back above the name. Not on the front. So it's not next year's jersey.
It's not really a new style though. It's just a slimmer cut at the sleeve opening. IIRC, they did it before, the last time they trimmed back the opening, it was first noticed at the rookie introduction event. That's a good point, but i haven't seen the front.
It seems that teams usually unveil new uniforms in August. Few years back Clippers 2010 draft picks posed with their old jerseys just a few months before they unveiled new uniforms.. So they definitely haven't been unveiled yet. June 2010 August 2010
The NBA Adidas Catalog has the Rockets listed for a "Pride Jersey" next year, like the current black lakers jersey or Detroit's motor city jersey. I'm assuming we will have one that says "CLUTCH CITY" on it.
