You may laugh, but if the price were right, if he didn't mind being a role player, and if he passed the Rockets' physical, I would not be opposed.
PG: *cough* Kyle *cough* Lowry, if Toronto decides to opt for someone in the draft or a free agent signing, and if we fire McHale at some point in the offeseason. Mario Chalmers Jose Calderon Mo Williams SG: Lance Stephenson, as a backup (if offered is relinquished, though unlikely, after his decent campaign this season). JJ Redick, at an affordable price Wesley Johnson SF: CJ Miles Omri Casspi
Anderson isn't really a good option. Only good for highlight plays but he really is out of control most of the time. Notice in games, he blows simple lay ups by making them needlessly complicated. Below average defender with no real upsides.
How about..... John Deibler I don't know much about him except that he is a dead eye shooter from the outside and that Houston already owns his rights. Oh yeah... one other thing, he's cheap.
We do have young guys at power forward, like D-Mo, Robinson, and Jones. Though, there are some quality power forwards on the market in the offseason, such as David West, J.J. Hickson, Paul Milsap, Al-Farouq Aminu, and Carl Landry.
Talk about under the radar ... he's a stealth 10-foot off the ground UAV. I've never heard of him, but I'm looking him up to check his stats and viability. Has he signed a long-term contract in Turkey? http://nbadraft.net/players/jon-diebler Jon Diebler Ohio State Birthday: 6/22/88 NBA Position: Shooting Guard Class: Senior Ht: 6-6 Wt: 197 Hometown: Upper Sandusky, OH High School: Upper Sandusky Team Site Profile Statistics NBA Comparison: Richie Frahm/Andy Rautins Strengths: One of the best three point shooters in the NCAA, hitting over 50% his senior year … At 6-6, can get his shot up over most defenders … Nearly limitless range on his jumper … Doesn’t get enough credit for his passing ability … High basketball IQ, very effective at finding openings on the perimeter … Complements his jumpshot with very effective pump fakes … Not afraid to put the ball on the floor to create space for himself … Gets down the floor well in transition … Always finds a way to set his feet, allowing him to be effective making moves and shots while off balance … Incredibly efficient scorer, especially for somebody who spends his time on the perimeter…Jumpshot mechanics are impeccable … Takes care of the basketball, averaging less than a turnover a game despite playing big minutes … Excellent shot selection. Rarely takes bad shots ... Actually shows surprising leaping ability ... Weaknesses: Fairly one dimensional player … Thin frame will result in him being pushed around on defense … Doesn’t possess great speed or quickness … Lacks the speed and athleticism of an NBA guard … Streaky shooter who if he goes cold struggles to impact the game… Not physical. Doesn’t get to the free throw line enough for an 82% shooter … Lacks star power … Limited potential … Looks destined to spend his career as a shooter coming off the bench … Only average lateral quickness will result in him struggling to defend quicker players ... Notes: Tied Big Ten Conference single game record with 10 three point field goals on 12 attempts against Penn St.
For a back up small forward I want to give 'Al-Farouq Aminu' a good look. He's still very young at 22 yrs of age, so his jump-shot improving isn't out of the question. Specially if you consider that his actually a pretty good free-throw shooter. If we can get him for cheap, having an long, athletic, 6'9 wing defender who can help crash the boards off the bench would be great!
I'm just not reading about many two-way options in this thread. Really want strong defenders who can hit that open 3 point shot. I'll be real disappointed if we can't re-sign Francisco Garcia.
Not an under the radar player but Tony Allen would bring defense to the team. Corey Brewer would be great too
Players who are truly under the radar most likely cannot easily be named by fans on a internet message board. If we are rattling off their names, they are most likely on the radar of NBA teams.
Whoever signs Tracy will only give him the Vet's minimum. He will be a role player wherever he goes as well thumbs.
Again, under the radar from Europe. Mindaugas Kuzminskas, currently BC ''Zalgiris'' player. But he's not signed for next year with any team yet, Madrid ''Real'' probably will make an offer this postseason. This kid was amazing in second half of the year, he is small-forward and is 1 year younger than Chandler, his playing style kinda similar to his and he is the same lenght as Chandler (with long arms), high basketball IQ, not fear to dunk. This year he was bench player because the team bought a lot of superstars, and there was just more experienced players. But, he had >60% 2FG and >35% 3PT shooting records this season. Also 13.6 points in 23.8 minutes in the league, and 7.1 points per 13.6 minutes in Euroleague. Tryd luck in 2011 NBA draft (http://www.nba.com/draft/2011/prospects/mindaugas-kuzminskas/), but if I'm right he took application back and didn't participated (guess got good deal from other team in Europe). He has improved, and I think he may be good ''asset'' (LOL at this, but true).
Signing these types of players to multi year deals comes after you acquire a 2nd star. Before just limits your flexibility.
