If you COULD make a similar video for other guards out there, then there WOULD be some. The lack of effort is inexcusable really.

 

Danggg... Harden looks unmotivated n extremely lazy everytime, on defence. He just cant wait for a missed/made shot so he can run on the other side of the court to be the offence focal point. At times, he pretended he bit on those pump fakes n clearly do a stay-away contest block, good enough to avoid fouls so he can still stay in the game. Why mchale gave him free passes? Why his teammates dont call him out?

This clip certainly is compiled from lots of games, n if harden slacks JUST 5 times each game, thats 10-15 pts free scores for rockets opponents. This is sickening!!! Being slow like brian scalabrine, matt bonner, or steve novak is human, but not putting effort is unforgivable!!!

No wonder some posters call him James Haren, all O but no D.

Still the best player on the team (and easily top 10 in the league) and the reason we have home court. With the media emphasis, definitely seems to play better defense than last year. But then again, when you are the only player on the team that can really create something you might not have energy to play defense either.

His defensive rating also isn't bad.

 

He has one of the WORST if not the worst defensive RPM in entire the league.

 

Kevin Martin was like 180 pounds, and he didn't really care

he was leaking for the fast break before the possession is even over

Still thinks it's a tad overblown. Not here to argue that he isn't bad, but I just don't think he is on his own planet in relation to some other offense first players.

My hope is that with age he will realize it's importance. Just hope it doesn't have to come at the cost of his offense.

I've seen him play good D when he wants to. The question seems to be one of motivation. Just hope he turns it on for the playoffs.

Rockets don't need Harden to play defense because of his offensive prowess and Bev's tenacity.

 

Every time he jumps to a pump fake he would clap hands to distract the shooter. Not working at all... along with the habit of useless wrap around steal

He has that matador defense thing going. Easy drive bys, and open 3s after open 3s for his man all day, every day.
