Well that explains a few missing players. Looks like the pressure is starting to rear it's ugly face. Surprised they didn't mention it during the game. It goes to show you that it's a long season, and u need everything to break right to get through it.
Herman addressed it at the presser and said it was basically a result of them being too competitive over something and horsing around.
please don't disappoint us UH... this is the only bright side in houston sports... i'm not a UH alum, but i'll root for you guys! please don't break my heart like the other 4 teams (rockets, texans, astros, horns)!
Up until last night I kinda looked at this team over the last 2 years as maybe they will and maybe they won't, always optimistic, but never quite seeing them as I should. Ward looked like Montana last night. I'm in. He showed patience in the pocket, he showed patience on the run too, the game has slowed down for him in a way that you rarely see on any level. You can literally see him just sit down and think about what he's going to do, and then go do it. The defense is stellar. I'm not going to cry if they lose, because it's near impossible to go undefeated, but this team is real and it is possible.
Bonner is quite a story. Went from being a small tweener kid in middle school playing football. To a walk on at UH to earning a scholarship and now one of our best WRs.
The improvement of Ward as a QB from last season to now is very significant. I've very impressed on how much better hes gotten in regards to the decision making and different types of throws compared to last year.
Sometimes when he's scrambling in the backfield I think "That's a sack" but he slips through somehow. Pretty amazing.
Wards decision making might actually get him drafted or at least a UDFA. Curious to see how Lamar Jackson does against better defenses that bait him better than the ones he's faces so far. OU schemed Ward pretty well I thought but he was talented enough with his arm to kill them through the air. That first TD last night he looked like he was in warp speed.
I always thought Dunbar would be the one having a shot at the pros but Bonner definitely will get a look after next season
