Knicks might implode and miss the playoffs. Chandler is as important as Melo to that team due to his efficiency and defense. So Melo declines player option and takes his talents to...? Where? Hard to see a great fit for him, nobody with an established superstar has cap space to sign him. I could maybe see Detroit if they can clear up a little more space. If Drummond takes a big step forward and J-Smoove can be convinced to stop taking jump shots, they could be a fit for him. Melo needs a dominant defensive frontcourt to have a shot at a title IMO. Other than that, maybe he tries to use good ol' hapless Mark Cuban as leverage to get himself a sign-and-trade.
Melo's wife is a business woman. I guess she wants him to join LAL if the Knicks can't be a contender.
Hard to see Melo going to LAL unless he can convince LeBron or Bosh to join him (doubtful, but you never know). I doubt he wants to repeat Dwight's mistake. The Lakers have nothing on that team.
Lala used to be a radio DJ out here, probably misses LA Personally I don't want Melo here. But if Nick Young goes in the process, then at least we'll be upgrading from a scrub black hole to a talented black hole And the Knicks are cursed, no surprise there
Is the Knicks 2014 1st round pick (which is owed to Denver) protected? If the pick is protected and I was a Knicks fan, right now I would be "hoping" Carmelo has some minor injury and has to miss a few weeks. Knicks go something like 2-12 and are out of the playoffs. Shut Chandler, Melo (and Amare) down for the season and get a high pick. If the pick is unprotected, Denver might get a nice surprise for the next draft.:grin::grin:
Even though its still early i tought Melo said he's gonna improve his shooting percentage. His percentage last night was bad lol
