Draft a player to have top 10 potential in the league in mid-first round is very low. The reason why Morey is not willing to give up all the rookies and cap space for Dwight is that in order to persuade him to sign an extension, Rockets have to show him that they have the ability and flexibility to turn the team into a champion contender in the next 2-3 years.

Definitely, all in will just turn us to Houston Magic, and Dwight is not likely to sign an extension even he like the Rockets.

Just saying, don't discount the Lin effect.Alexander knows he would look like a fool if he gave up guy's that lived up to hype, while Dwight walks.

People in his position usually don't get there by repeating mistakes.

Living up to the hype of a mid round pick is something I think we should all be comfortable gambling with.

No, he's not. He's a professional reporter that's been as accurate on the Dwight saga as anyone.

No - he's quoting the other person in the tweet. That's why there are quotes. Mejia's comments are not in quotes.

You misread it. He was quoting someone else. He is a former Knick fan who walked away during the Laden/Zeke years. He has said on twitter he has no team he follows any more.

Until the latest news on ORL maybe keeping Dwight, Mejia had been selling how a trade is coming very soon. No doubt he heard the same from his "sources" but every "source" has his/her own agenda.

But a trade may come very soon....

Just cause Orlando is saying they may keep Dwight doesn't mean they're seriously considering it. The inevitability of Orlando having to make a trade undercuts their bargaining position. Hence they're trying to convince suitors for Dwight that they're in no hurry to trade him.

I'm sure they'll take another stab at convincing him to stay, but absent that, they'll have to take what they can get.

Let's go ahead and sign our draft picks and really put the squeeze on Orlando.

That's the point. Orlando would then be forced to wait it out, sweating the real possibility that this would go down to training camp.

I'd say sign the picks at this point. Tired of Orlando's crap, they're beyond pathetic at this point.
