Fox Might Reboot The Greatest American Hero

Believe it or not... Fox has given a put pilot commitment to The Greatest American Hero, which was created by legendary producer Stephen J. Cannell, Deadline reports.

21 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will try their hand at rebooting the 1981 cult classic, serving as executive producers alongside Cannell's daughter, Tawnia McKiernan, and the pilot's writer Rodney Rothman.

The hourlong dramedy will follow the adventures of inner-city teacher Isaac after he discovers a superhero suit that gives him superhuman powers. But after losing the instructions, Isaac is forced to learn to master its abilities through trial and error, all the while butting heads with a government handler and questioning the moral obligations of possessing the suit.

Would you watch a new Greatest American Hero?

Doubt that it would stick, there's not one actor that could play the role of Ralph Hinkley convincingly.

Young actors today are so full of sarcasm and know-it-all-ness. There are no charming young actors who can pull off foolhardiness and make the audience believe it.

Loved the theme song and show. I would watch, wistfully hoping it would be good. They did a good job on 21 Jump St though, so maybe there is hope.
