but imagine if this show was on hbo what they could get away with! I kind of took my eyes away from the screen for a bit. in a related subject, hannibal really deserves his own cooking show. one of the enjoyable parts of the show is hearing him vividly describe the meal he prepared, makes emeril lagasse look like a newb.
I think the format of the show changing was definitely needed. I'll be curious to see what they do with Hannibal on the lamb.
Maybe it's because I watch it at like 1 am usually when everyone is asleep so it's a little too loud, but am I the only person that thinks they go a little overboard with the music, it never stops! You've set the mood... we get it, it's a dark suspenseful show. Do we need the dark ominous tones at all times?!
A bit. It does set the mood but as it goes on and on and gets louder and louder . . it intrudes Hannibal is a bad man. He handled everyone so smoothly It was not easy . . .. seeing him somewhat distressed not as in control was good to see too. Since they have made major divergence I would like to see Hannibal on the run like he was in Italy Rocket River
Read a quote from the show runner that he plans to bastardize the Hannibal novel and Hannibal Rising next season as well as merging some other elements. In essence, he's going to do whatever he wants outside of any Lambs related material because of legal issues....
I just binged this show over the past week. I'm in shock after that finale. I figured a major character would die, but wow. Can't wait for the new season.
The show returns tomorrow night at 9 (during the NBA Finals of course): First Look at Season 3: Spoiler A Cannibal in Paris [promo]: Spoiler
Anyone else watch the premiere? Up until the dinner scene, it felt like a completely different show to me. I'm still not really sure how I feel about the episode as a whole.
I enjoyed it, different but I enjoyed it. Showrunner had previously said some of these early episodes would have a dreamlike quality to them and reference movies, think the first episode was referencing The Talented Mr. Ripley if I remember correctly. They won't show us what happened right after the finale last year for a few episodes, from what I understand....
Interesting. I didn't know they were going for that kind of feel. I was pretty confused several times during the episode. I couldn't comprehend when these flashbacks with Gideon would've taken place. Also, for some reason I had forgotten that Hannibal had killed that guy's former professor and that was whose identity he had assumed. The other thing that was confusing to me was the part where Bedelia killed her patient. They just come back from commercial with her laying on the ground next to a dead body. That part definitely had a dreamlike quality to it. I'll probably need to rewatch it before next week's episode.
Was just reading a review of the episode and it was stated that it took place in the middle of Season 2. My memory is failing me a lot when it comes to this show.
