I was trying to decide on if I should wait and binge the show at the end but generally speaking I dunno if I can dodge spoilers etc. Rocket River
I just caught up on Season 2. It's crazy how it seems like every episode's plot dovetails with real-world events. It's like they write the script based on news headlines. I wonder if the black guy with dreads is a real person or just another imaginary friend in Elliot's head.
they don't really address the tradeoff of wiping out personal debt (aka stealing) namely, the inability to borrow also seems they might be incorporating bitcoin into the plot. Will be interesting to see how well they understand the technology, and the threat it represents to f-society's worldview
what do you think wiping out personal debt accomplishes? the destruction of lending/borrowing as an economic activity
And according to commodore a muslim family means the show is automatically about terrorism. How dense can one poster be. Has strong biases and then is confused why nobody else sees his schizo connections.
I do not think it is insufferable but there is a certain cycle of things for Alderson and Co. It is practically rinse repeat boom( something big happens) rinse and repeat until the next thing explodes It is interesting for sure but if you have enough of today's society and want a cop out this is probably not it. Too much economy, technology and hacker things, too much repetition. It can be slow as hell. Most of the characters are very good, it is just the blend of everything that can be too much. Definitely would recommend for people that are upset about what is going on. If I am bored, I cannot take it.
Season 2 definitely requires more patience. This may end up being another show that is very good in it's first season because of the novelty but never recaptures the magic. Ratings are also sinking like a stone, maybe to the point of no return. Count me in the group that doesn't like the extended episodes.
I don't really understand the Dark Army's involvement with the E Corp Chief Officer or E Corp in general. What are there intentions?
By the end of season 1, I felt like the show was a bait-n-switch. It went from a hacker/techie vigilante show with a plot to bring down the evil lending institutions to a delusional Elliot. It was hard to figure out who was real and who wasn't. Season 2 has been all about Elliots psychological issues. Three episodes in and I have no desire to catch up. This show is dead in the water.
The show is anything but dead in the water. This season is just starting to pick up steam. there has been some wonderful character development and now that Elliot is back behind the terminal the show is grounded again and we're left wondering about how this is all going to shake out with Ecorp, the dark army, the fbi, silk road and will Elliot be able to stay himself with the presence of Mr Robot. Great show.
This season has been fantastic The wheels are spinning in so many directions right now. Also the money burning scene and the shootout in FBI headquarters are two of the most epic scenes I've ever seen on a TV show
The shoot out at the end of the last episode was great. For a show that is so dramatic and subdued in it's execution the instant violence was shocking.
