So is the next Avengers movie "Captain America centric" both the centipede bomb and the 0-8-4 were WW1 based, correct?

Somewhat, I'd call that an understatement.

As for the show, I think the writers know this show is in no immediate danger of being cancelled, so they can take their time building up backstory and letting things develop slowly.

And Dreamshook mentioned it earlier, it may be a little corny and light, but between Dexter, Boardwalk, Breaking Bad the Walking Dead, and virtually every other show,I really don't mind a show like this for a change of pace. I have enough dark shows with people getting offed.

I like it, certainly don't love it yet, but It's good enough to stick with to see where it goes. It seems with Coulson's origin and the Hot girl being a spy they are already starting to develop some angles. Not to mention the army of lesser known superheroes they have at their disposal.

Not sure how much you've followed Joss Whedon during his career, but offing characters is what he does. But he waits until you care deeply about what happens to them.

But I agree with your statement. I have to believe the network is going to give him time to flesh out the story and not give him the Firefly treatment.

Joss hates that he has this reputation, and he thinks it's unfounded. I've only seen him get angry once in my life and it was during a Q&A panel where someone brought this up. And personally, I don't think he offs characters as often as some people make it seem. The difference between him and some others is he will kill someone off if it makes the story better; he won't keep a character around just because fans like him/her.

As for this show, the 2nd episode was better than the first. So that's good. I'm not sure Clark Gregg can play a lead character in an action show but hopefully I'm wrong.

Dance number was probably the best thing I've ever seen on TV...

I thought Ming-Na's character was a bit stiff, but Fitz! My goodness, Fitz's voice is amazing! I saw the dance number coming, but the singing was surprising.

I really want to like this show. There's a lot of things that work. The cheesiness is a bit much for my taste, however. Like others have said, there needs to be an ongoing story arc with the quickness. The plot of this entire last episode was completely throw away to me.

I'm the same way, I want to like it more than I do. Last night's episode was even cheesier than the first. They have a few tidbits about Sky having a season long arch but I don't know if I can sit through all the throwaway episodes.

TV Ratings: 'Agents of SHIELD' Slips

ABC's Agents of SHIELD has earned the unfortunate bragging rights of the biggest drop-off from its premiere this season. Last week's big scripted launch, which bested a four-year ratings record for a drama premiere, fell a significant 33 percent on Tuesday night.

Fast National returns have the latest SHIELD averaged a 3.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.4 million viewers. In the demo, that's steep drop from last week's 4.7 rating. The rest of the new lineup dropped accordingly, with The Goldbergs (2.2 adults), Trophy Wife (1.4 adults) and Lucky 7 (0.8 adults) all falling well below premieres

It'll likely still have over 10 million viewers after 2nd day/DVR/Hulu numbers are added. Gotta think ABC is happy with that.

I gave it another chance and watched the second episode. The show is a dog.

It needs to bring in some good writers and maybe play off the Agent Hill & Agent Coulson actors. The other actors are a bit nondescript. Ming Na Wen's performance has been wooden.

The one knock on Whedon: ALL his shows start very slow. It took me 2 season so get into Buffy, 2nd season to get in to Angel, 2nd season to get in to Dollhouse. Firefly, even though was tampered with, had me from the beginning. I'm still watching. I don't think ABC will let this show get canceled anyway.

Maybe I'm reaching, but did anyone else notice bits and pieces from Firefly? The weapon used to take out all the rebels in front of the ruins, the last scene on the cargo ramp, Shepard book as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, story so far is a small crew flying around in a ship.
