    Shut up.

I watched two new episodes last night and still made me laugh.

It's got to be the single best gig in the history of television. I guess the dude feels like he has enough money.

I just don't understand why people care so much. If you don't find it funny any more, stop watching. Why would you want to make millions of other people unhappy who obviously still watch it and don't want it canceled. There are dozens of shows I watched for a while and simply stopped when I like it any longer for whatever reason. I wasn't arrogant enough to think they should just cancel the show because my opinion was the show wasn't worth my time.

I can't imagine they couldn't replace him. The perils of being off-screen talent.

...approaching 30 yrs. Wow. Still better than a lot of shows out there.

I think after a while when they continue making something that clearly isn't at the same standard, and not even using the same voices, it hurts the memory and legacy.

When I tell people I think Die Hard and First Blood were all time great american films they just think of the sequels and not the original.

Does that make you like Die Hard or First Blood any less?

More like 12 or 13 seasons too late.

Probably because of it's cultural significance and the way it went from the best comedy on TV to typical sitcom territory...and pretty fast, too. The Simpsons was important, then it became a shadow of a shell of its former self.

I don't care about it any longer, but I understand why some do.

I haven't even watched the show in years, but I'm still glad that he's coming back. It just didn't seem right to replace one of the major actors.

    I was saying Boooo...

This thread is reminding me I need watch some of the more recent seasons. I stopped at some time ago, but there's really not that much I like to watch on TV these days.

I lost touch for years. Then, last year when FX did the marathon, I took the opportunity to watch a lot of what I missed...and it was still funny.

Yeah, I don't watch all that often. I'll catch one every now and then. The show is still funny. It's not at the legendary status of the mid 90's episodes, but still good TV.

Shearer was actually a pretty prolific guy in the early '80s, full pedigree as a comedic writer and actor and probably passed up a whole career path producing or developing sitcoms and/or comedic films. Other than Azaria: who's ironically the most telegenic and versatile vocally of the crew, he's probably the most talented and creative, despite them all being veteran actors before the show ever started.

They kind of ran that thing into the ground syndication wise in the mid-90s, and being sick of South Park references before I ever watched it I think I just backed away from animated stuff altogether since then.
