Great job, @Deuce! I'll definitely be watching the episodes the 1st time around in our living room, where I have the best sound and visuals. I wonder if it'll ever find its way to the big screen? I'd love the chance to watch this during a weekend marathon at our local Alamo Drafthouse. The response makes that sound very, very appealing.
My favorite dish at the local Indian place is Lamb Mangalorean, so every time this thread pops back up, I get hungry for Indian takeout.
Those exact same accounts? Or are you just lumping ALL MEDIA together? Because if you are, that isn't fair.
I mostly am, so sure, not those EXACT SAME ACCOUNTS, but in general, the dudes who got early access to prior Star Wars products, I imagine got access to this as well. Like I said...not saying they’re wrong. Just saying I’ll wait and see. Disney isn’t going to let people get early access to their stuff without a pretty strong assurance that they will reciprocate with good reviews.
It's a common practice by Disney in particular to find content creators like on Youtube and offer them exclusive access to shows and premieres in exchange for glowing reviews. Good parody of content creators like that. Collider basically fessed up to giving glowing reviews in exchange for access to movie premieres. This one reviewer didn't get invited so he threw a temper tantrum during the podcast and refused to talk Star Wars. In other words, Twitter and Youtube buzz can't really be taken seriously.
Anything Collider is basically a Disney shill that will like whatever content Disney tells them to like whether it's good or not.
Then I will wait to subscribe until I can binge watch. Will be tough though, this is the coolest looking Star Wars since Rogue One.
There is something weirdly hypnotic and unsettling about listening to Werner Herzog read flat monotone uninflected breathy dialog very slowly with his German accent. I could listen to him talk all day with a vague sense of dread. So I guess in the Star Wars universe there is a Space Germany planet somewhere?
I don't know if you were ever a Parks and Rec fan, but the one episode when he shows up as a house seller to Chris Pratt and whatshername is pretty great.
"Is she the light side or the dark side? Good guy or bad? Or does her allegiance lie somewhere in the middle? “Thinking that she’s a mercenary, it can go either way,” Wen said. “I think it remains to be seen.” Wen compared her to Han Solo, a survivor who didn’t start out believing in any cause but his own. Then again, Fennec Shand made her name committing murder for the galaxy’s top crime syndicates, so she’s much closer to the sinister side than the wisecracking smuggler."
