Tucker is the epitome of a championship level role player. If PJ Tucker was our MVP we would be the worst team in NBA history. But because we have the likes of Harden to create he can go out there and just bust his ass and excel at everything else. He's invaluable, but he's only invaluable because of Harden.
He's wrecking so much $#!% on defense that the Warriors basically have to wait for him to sit down before they start their runs.
Some of us knew guys like Tucker before he put on a Houston Rockets Jersey.. they put their heads down and went to work every night. They didnt complain. They took the beatings. They hit shots when needed and counted. They rebounded. They blocked shots. That was the entire houston rockets clutchcity team. This is why guys like Tucker who do not fill up stat sheets or puts seats in the arena are exactly what we need to win the game and series. This is why you do not trade him for a Jimmy Butler. I hope Tucker is ready for the next game because they are going to do whatever it takes to take him out.
Think he has done what you would expect of a role player. He had one good scoring game in five. And that's all I count on for rollies. He's been good at home like most role players, but to beat Golden State we need more than that. He can't be shooting 36% inside the paint. 10 ppg and 6 rebounds per game is ok, but not spectacular. And he can't have scoreless games. He needs to walk into some points. PJ has played admirable defense, but let's be honest, KD has destroyed him averaging 36 per game, 10 more than the regular season.
I still remember that cross-court pass from Horry to Mario Elie for that game winning 3 against the Suns. Here is all the good juju for all our players in game 5 for a similar result.
Wow, this is a bad post. According to matchup data, KD has shot 11-27 from the floor with Tucker on him before game 4. Don’t see the matchup stats for game 4 yet. He has been sensational on the defensive end all series, and his offensive rebounding the last two games have been huge.
U kid but I still wanna make that trade. We would of replaced tucker with another scrappy guy n butler pretty scrappy
It's hard to give it to just one guy. It's taken a total team effort to beat these guys. Proud of our boys. Let's hope we still one on the road.
Yep, Nick Wright said PJ should be 1st team all NBA Defensive team and Jackson was like "Oh no..no, nah"
I want Tucker to have the presence of mind to offer the Oakland fans a 'Kiss of Death' as he sinks a game-sealing three from the corner in this next game.
During the Butler saga, some people here thought that players like Tucker were a dime a dozen. To me, he's made of the same mode of guys like Mario Elie and Chuck Hayes, except that Tucker gets the best of those two guys. He can defend like Chuck and can shoot like Elie. You don't get that kind of players very often.
