I'm not sure what the current "I Didn't Vote For Trump But I'l Defend Him to the Death" Power Rankings look like but ipaman is close to locking up a #1 seed in the upcoming tourney.

There is no doubt about it -- the media is not going to let anything pass with Trump and this administration. He will be scrutinized in a way Obama wasn't.

That said, this administration has had some major crazy on display in just the first month, its kind of breathtaking. This can't be simply explained away as the media blowing things out of proportion.

Seems appropriate in this thread. One joke disapproves of the bigger joke.

    http://thehill.com/homenews/318031-torture-memos-author-john-yoo-says-trump-has-gone-too-far

John Yoo, a former Justice Department attorney known for writing legal memorandums on enhanced interrogation tactics known as the Torture Memos, says President Trump has gone too far in his use of executive power.

In a New York Times op-ed on Monday, Yoo argues that Trump's use of executive power is worrisome.

“He should understand the Constitution’s grant of executive power,” Yoo wrote, referencing Alexander Hamilton, who co-wrote the Federalist Papers, a series of essays on the Constitution.

“He should share Hamilton’s vision of an energetic president leading the executive branch in a unified direction, rather than viewing the government as the enemy. He should realize that the Constitution channels the president toward protecting the nation from foreign threats, while cooperating with Congress on matters at home.”

Yoo said Trump, as commander in chief, does not have the constitutional authority to order the construction of a border wall, nor does he have the power to terminate trade deals negotiated by Congress, like the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Yoo said that Trump’s executive order imposing a temporary ban on nationals from seven predominantly Muslim countries entering the United States “falls within the law,” but noted reports that Trump had originally sought a “Muslim ban.” Yoo said such an order would “violate the Constitution’s protection for freedom of religion or its prohibition on the state establishment of religion.”

“Had Mr. Trump taken advantage of the resources of the executive branch as a whole, not just a few White House advisers, he would not have rushed out an ill-conceived policy made vulnerable to judicial challenge,” he wrote.

The difference is that one is a genuinely super nice guy, and really funny. The one that works for Trump is a jerk and lacks any sort of humor at all.

Because they are for the most part marginal people that were shunned by main stream political parties and candidates because their positions and policy aims were radical. When Trump ran for President, he was marginalized as well and the people he had to choose from were outcasts.

Have you read about the **** this guy used to do in high school? It's like Trump said, "Hmm, let me pick the worst of the worst to be my advisors!" It's like The Year Without a Santa Claus- they're all Rankin Bass characters come to life.

And respect is earned, not given. The Trump administration has currently done nothing to deserve any of it.

You know the phrase, "You can't make this stuff up?"

Washington (CNN)The first major shakeup of his top-level staff looming, President Donald Trump sought some positive affirmation.

Walking from the Oval Office past his personal assistants and into the West Wing hallways, Trump, spotted by reporters, stopped in front of a blown-up photograph hanging outside his press secretary's office.
"Look at this," he exclaimed at an image of his inauguration, taken from the Capitol and showing crowds appearing to stretch far into the distance. "Where did all these people come from?"

I'm telling you this man does not want to give up power. Trump is creating chaos and if he can create enough of a crisis he can seize absolute power.

Also because a Trump chose to punish those who did not support him during the campaign by locking as many out of important jobs as he could. Trump could have hired competent GOP politicos who know how to run government, but he opted for the more Bannon-esque set of white nationalist authoritarians Trump beloved loyal to his cause.

These may be the people he had to choose from during the election given his extremist candidacy, but he could have selected from a wider and deeper pool after the election.

I haven't met a Trump voter yet. Everyone I met irl that advocates his policies and defends his every action prefaces with 'didnt vote for him'.

    I think some are lying.
