bottom line: if you intend no threat or intimidation, and you mean, "the presidential powers are substantial and we will employ them, within the existing framework, to protect the American People," then you still have 9,999 ways to express it that are much, much better than this:

"... our opponents, the media, and the whole world will soon see, as we begin to take further actions, that the powers of the president to protect our country are very substantial, ..." [mwahahaha! bites pinky nail, puts laser on shark's head]

I mean, what's with this fully powered battle station schtick? And why single out your "opponents" if you allegedly represent all Americans? How about winning someone, anyone, but your most rabid followers over to your side?

Still, as of mid-February, the administration's only gesture to the entire country and those who did not support his candidacy was one flipping sentence in his acceptance speech. Turrrible. Dude is getting turrrible advice from turrrible and radical advisors. It's too bad, really, for everyone but those advisors.

The DoJ lawyer argued that the POTUS decision is NOT reviewable (when it comes to the security of the US). This is probably along the same thought.

I think most people are ok with the WH exercising power to protect the people. Most judges would probably don't care and most of us would like to trust the WH to make decision in ALL of our best interest. .

The problem is this WH is so fked up. Other than the very serious story that intel is being held back (sooner or later that's going blow up), this WH came out blazing with discrimination. That's just not going to fly and judges ruled correctly to hold this WH in check. They messed up big time. They showed their hand, intentionally or not. Now, they have a huge trust deficit. Any decision they make from now on is of suspicion, as it should be. When they do have a legitimate security concern and need to make some broad decision, guess what - due to their behavior, you could get push back and judges can slow down things, possibly increasing risks.

This, among many other greater reasons, is why we are all less secure with this WH. You might think you voted in for security, but you have voted in for less.

I heard it and I've read it and it sounds exactly like Trump wants it to sound.

Much like cart man yelling... you will respect my authority

Maybe it's because he's still young, but Miller seems to struggle with gravitas. Says something despotic and everyone laughs at him.

His struggle is real. Here's an anecdote from his high school in Santa Monica, California, where he pretty much hated the diversity, by all accounts.

    -----------------
Ari Rosmarin, editor of The Samohi [student newspaper] at the time, recalled that Miller confronted him after he published an article arguing that drivers who put U.S. flag stickers on their SUVs were not really patriotic because their vehicles consumed imported gasoline.

“He came up to me after an assembly and put his finger on my chest, telling me that I was anti-American,” Rosmarin told Univision Noticias. “Then he opened up his shirt and showed me his t-shirt with an American flag. I was surprised by the melodramatic gesture,” said the descendant of Polish immigrants.

Rosmarin also recalled a Miller speech during a campaign for student council elections in which he attacked the requirement that students put their trash in garbage bins, saying that janitors were paid to do that.

Some of the students who knew Miller in high school said he had no interests other than radical politics, and that he always seemed unhappy.

    This via SPLC and Univision.

Sounds like a great guy to have setting national policy... if you're a socially-impaired creep, anyway.

Trump is a very emotional creature with a massive ego and the staff are just taking after Trump's incessant behavior to defend himself. They've felt like victims since day one. I do wish that the media would back off a bit to see if they would respond accordingly and if they did great. If they didn't then they could attack full force. But the media (and the left) haven't even given them a tiny chance. On their throats since day one. So it's no surprise they are acting like trapped animals in a corner. Fight or flight and they've chosen to fight just like the left and media have.

A common trait of Trump and his base is they are victims and are being victimized. You fall right in there with your approval.

No, news should not back off when Trump people lies, give out alt facts and refuses to answer anything, even a simple question. But news do need to rethink how they ask questions and get answers. The platform is being used to feed the public misinformation that afterward, the only thing that you get out of it is a more dumb public. Terrible!

trump and most of his advisers have been ego-driven assholes their entire lives... nothing in trumps history has ever displayed him giving one single f**k for anyone not named donald trump. why in the hell does he or any of his goons deserve even an iota of leeway??? this is what i don't get. their histories are there for everyone to see, they are exactly who they've always been - deranged people who crave power more than anything else. if they wanted to be given a free pass than they needed to act like they gave a **** what anyone outside their inner circle thought, but from the second he took office it has been their way or the highway, including telling blatant lies over and over again. how many lies do they need to tell before you stop giving them the benefit of the doubt? and why should the press give them a free pass if they aren't even willing to be truthful on obvious issues???

the whole lot of them are goons who don't give two sh!ts about you or me or anyone else on this board or in this country... the real question is why do you give them so much rope, other than you're obvious hatred for libtards (which to you means everyone that disagrees with trump apparently).

and what sort of "context" were you inferring when miller used that sort of language??? who the hell says our opponents will no our power and the president shall not be questioned if they aren't trying to intimidate? normal, democratic-leaning people don't say **** like that.

The POTUS has already had his first law struck down based on constitutionality. His response clearly demonstrated that he strongly disagreed with being questioned and so he called out each judge by name, an intimidation move. He made no attempt to include the legislative branch and was hoping his executive powers solely would be sufficient ...not very democratic.

That isn't the job of the media. It is their job no matter who the President is to investigate, and hold them accountable.

Seriously? You went there? Now we are supposed to feel sorry for Trump and his people because the "the media (and the Left) haven't even given them a tiny chance." Wow. Should I feel "sorry" for you as well, who has expended so much energy here defending Mr. Trump since the election?

Is this some kind of joke? You must be kidding.
