He is showing his true colors alright. Green. It's all about money. His leadership and lack action in tackling the pandemic in this country is proving him to be one of the most ignorant and irresponsible leaders in the world.

I'm going to tuck this article in here because I'm too lazy to link to a non-partisan outlet right now. If I were to try and find one I would certainly include "duh" as a search term.

Lower cognitive ability linked to non-compliance with social distancing guidelines during the coronavirus outbreak

Here is a summary of Trump's actions and lack of leadership regarding Covid19.
    1. Prior to the pandemic, he disbanded the Pandemic task force and shut down their office.
    2. As it became apparant that it was a real threat, Trump underestimated it, and refused to gear up on the need for respirators, protective masks, testing, travel restrictions etc.
    3. As it became more widely known, Trump wanted to make sure the economy wasn't skittish and started telling lies about the virus, about it and who had it.
    4. Trump claimed it would just disappear, that warm weather would make it go away, and other falsehoods all in an effort to keep the economy from tanking.
    5. The virus is spreading and no longer possible to ignore. Trump puts in a travel ban that is full of holes and doesn't really completely halt people from coming into the U.S. from infected nations.
    6. Trump continues to lie about testing is slow to get supplies out to the states and areas with infections. He also charged prices and finagled situations to turn profits.
    7. Trump was slow to issue travel restrictions to areas where his golf resorts were but eventually did do that.
    8. Trump continues to lie and make crazy statements about how to 'treat' the disease. He still wrestles with state and local governments about distributing resources.
    9. Trump refuses to wear a mask in public or set a good example in how to deal with the pandemic.
    10. He claims everything will be open by Easter, but correctly reverses that decision.
    11. The testing and seriousness start to sink in. Shutdowns, and quarantining starts to work. But the economy is understandably hurting.
    12. Trump urges reopening in order to prevent the economy from sinking even further.
    13. Cases start to jump, hospitals fill up, and the economy has a very mild recovery.
    14. States start having to roll back their openings.
    15. The world can see that European Union nations and many others that took action and held to it, have flattened their curve, and are able to start safely reopening their economies. It makes Trump look bad.
    16. Trump begins to start trying to disparage testing, and the numbers because they show his incompetent reaction.
    17. Now fearing that hospitalizations and death and climbing cases are also bad for his re-election chances just like a failing economy, Trump tries to give himself plausible cover and wears a mask in public for the first time. He's also trying to discredit people that have been reasonable and contrast with his unreasonable responses.

The one constant in all of this is that Trump and his administration have only reacted. They have never taken the lead on anything. Actually that isn't totally true. There was one time where Trump took the lead and didn't react. That was when he disbanded the Pandemic Response Team and closed their office. So the one time he took the lead (which was actually also a reaction to contradict Obama) was failure. Every other step of the way has been him reacting and usually reacting based on fear. But it isn't based on the fear of people suffering. It is the fear of how it makes him look and what it will do to his re-election chances.

Just watched the surgeon general take questions on Face the Nation. The guy who told people to STOP WEARING MASKS comes on wearing a mask and takes no responsibility for his past words. And has the gall to say that talking about what happened four months ago distracts from what we need to do now.

There's just no way that this pandemic or any medical calamity should be left in the hands of this administration after this year. Like, none.

trump retweets this blatantly (to the degree of dangerously and criminally) false tweet, just to provide cover for his own failures to act against the COVID-19 problem by casting doubt on scientific and medical experts including the CDC and doctors (?!?) and accusing it as "political" to boost his dimming odds at reelection.

Why isn't Twitter putting disclaimers on all his tweets about our lowest deaths, etc...that are lies?

Sure, people who exhibit more patience and the means to work from home might display more "cognitive ability", but practicing social distancing and quarantine for months on end isn't good for mental health.

Reminds me of Governor Abbott as he keeps having to reverse himself for following his Dear Leader.
