This is what I don’t get. If Trump can force GM to make ventilators, then why can’t Trump force other companies to create and administer tests. It seems that pretty much everyone agrees that testing on a massive scale could move our country towards normalcy. We may not have a vaccine for another 12-18 months. So, why not go all in on quickly ramping up testing? Trump just wants to hand off this issue to the states. But, I believe this is where we need the federal government to step up and get this done.
