That's interesting, because he literally refers to concerns about the coronavirus expressed by Democrats as "their new hoax". Even though in private people in the government (Republican and Democrats, alike) were briefed about what a disaster it could be. I believe his economic advisor put out a memo about it in January that it could lead to mass deaths. But because Democrats were publicly warning people about how bad it could be, they were "politicizing" it and it was therefore a "hoax". I'm not alleging a conspiracy. What I wrote: "Whether Fauci himself felt there was no reason for the public to be alarmed at that time, or this was the messaging he was asked to deliver from others on the task force, we don't know." Not sure what proof you think is needed to justify that sentence. I don't know what he personally believed people should be doing at that time to mitigate spread. Advising the American public to self isolate early without clear evidence that it is medically necessary would certainly not go over well with many people in the administration. So, he may or may not have been freely speaking his mind on that matter. It's also possible that he was not explicitly directed by others on what to say, but he chose to frame his answer in way that would not cause predictable political blow back for him. I think that's probably the mostly likely. Now, do you need evidence that there would have been pressure on Fauci not to stray too far away from the message Trump was putting out there at the time? Are all the instances of Trump going after government employees who displease him, and all the calls for Fauci to be fired and the death threats against him in the past month, really not enough for you?
LOL. Trump is playing FoxNews produced clip montage....without playing FoxNews hoax talking points. Now, he is playing a montage of his Response....LOL. Wow...this is supposed to be a briefing on the virus. Now, he is using it as a campaign event.
We know what it means when all you have left is to insult other posters who've provided support for their ideas. Come on, Doc.
I have ventilators ready to rock .....and clips lying around. Clips? You want more clips? You heard the clips
Maybe this quarantine is getting to me but this trump guy is pretty funny in a morbid way. This is uncanny and classic
And once the facts changed, Dr Fauci changed his tuned. Meanwhile Trump kept playing to his base. Trump was merely acting like Trump during his rallies where he just lies. "Perfect call", lol. The Mueller Report that outlined the information sharing between the Trump campaign and Russian backed associates and Trump's quid pro quo with Rudy Giulani weren't hoaxes. The Conorovirus turned out not to be a hoax either.
I don't usually post in D&D ... but these "news conferences" that nobody follows anymore apparently ARE. HIL. ARIOUS. OMG. This is pure comedy.
Watch Avenue 5 if you need you like dark disaster show comedies. No happy endings in that one though.
