Impeaching is always unpopular. This is why pelosi is trying to stop it. Despite impressions you might get from this forum (which leans way far left), Americans dont want it.
It surprises me that some people here think this guy is playing 4D chess when he been using the same small group of words for the past 5 years.
Trump will do whatever. If Congress doesn't impeach him he will call that a victory, If they do and he isn't removed from office he will call that a victory. Even if he is voted to be removed from office it wouldn't surprise me if he uses that as a rallying call to call it as the Deep State undertaking a coup and try to hang on. We cannot decide everything based upon how Trump will react. History will record that there were those who stood by the Constitution and there were those who stood by Trump.
Is there a board game that a player can constantly break the rules and invent new one? When that's the game you are involved in, you either break the rules yourself or you insist and hold him accountable to the rules. If you aren't willing to do either, 4D chess doesn't quite do justice.
I do believe that Pelosi has been gathering info, she's an old school politician. Pelosi has been trying to avoid the impeachment because she knows that it would help Trump. Trump is like a spoil kid that will she keep pushing the envelope as far as he can, to get away with as much as he can. Pelosi knows this... So Pelosi had to wait until Trump did something so bad that it would put the Republicans in a bad spot light if they did remove him when she filed an impeachment.... Both parties have their die hard supporters, right now both parties are appealing to independents. T_Man
^^^ yea no sh*t. No one wants to see the nation to go through impeachment. It's a necessary duty when the POTUS abuse his power and if that duty is solely dependent on polling, we might as well remove it from the book and the Constitution.
See? Trump's strategy is working. He doesn't HAVE to play "4D chess" with his base. He can play Candy Land and they will always support him. He will use this as a rallying cry and his supporters will FLOCK to the polls next year screaming "WITCH HUNT!!!!111" Everything is proceeding as Leader Trump has foreseen.
The impeachment inquiry will publicly show the details of the whistleblower's complaint. If the details rise to the level of being impeachment worthy and the voters concur, the House will likely vote to impeach. The process will continue on to the Senate where it will die, the GOP Senators will do at their own peril. The GOP Senators will have to do the following calculus: If the Senate does not have an impeachment trail, will that hurt more than help their re-election chances. If the Senate has a sham impeachment trail, will that hurt more than help their re-election chances. If the Senate has an impeachment trail and the the vote is straight up partisan, will that hurt more than help their re-election chances. If the Senate has an impeachment trail and the the facts drive the vote, will that hurt more than help their re-election chances. My guess the first and last options are the most likely
He doesn't have the majority - and the Dems are fired up and outnumber his supporters by a significant amount. Trump is toast. DD
Not sure what math you are trying to do here. These buckets aren't mutually exclusive. Its yes and nos, not yes and population. In other words, 61% of the registered voters doesn't want impeachment. 35% do
