When people talk about giving up precincts, that happened in Minneapolis, personally I think it was a mistake, as a reason for bringing in Federal authorities. In Minneapolis the LE that restored order were not Federal authorities. NO FEDERAL AUTHORITIES WERE USED IN MINNEAPOLIS. It was local and state PD along with National Guard.

Frankly it shows a pretty low opinion of local LE and the states to think that only Federal authorities coming in uninvited can restore order.

Further from what we hear they are doing in Portland they aren't even protecting local people and businesses. They are protecting Federal buildings and seeming to take random people in custody, holding them for questioning and then often releasing them without charge.

 

This is terrorism!
And yet we should be worried about a non existent antifa? Or a boogeyman from 1955?

I think you're right. Well, I don't think I would call BLM and antifa "organizations" because they aren't that organized. But there is definitely socialist implications to the goals they have. Defund the Police, for example, would move money from policing (a socialist institution, btw -- everyone pays according to their ability and uses the resources according to their needs) to other vehicles of social welfare. Which I think is great. The USA needs to fall in love with socialism again.
