Fear of ICE raids leads some US citizens to carry their passports Super awesome that citizens feel like they have to carry their papers so that ICE agents don’t haul them in by mistake. There’s enough cases of exactly that happening “by mistake” that many in the target cities are keeping their passports on them. They fear merely not being white and/or having an accent will get them detained. This is not and should never be a country where one has to carry their papers.

Aren't the ICE raids only on those that already have court deportation or exit orders? Its basically a warrant sweep.
Under the current administration, ICE has been known to detain other people in their route to detaining their intended target. So, they'll have a warrant for one Individual and come out with 3 or 4. This effects many children who are citizens while their parents are undocumented.

Do undocumented people not pay rent, utilities, groceries or if having SS #'s, don't they also pay taxes beyond the sale taxes issued here while being ineligible to receive benefits at 59? Are we now dictating that you can't save money for your family's needs while earning honest wages?
