Not on the importance. On the brass tacks of what he'll actually do for them. Telling them to be less dependent on government aid is empty rhetoric. Telling them he'll increase jobs or bring jobs is empty rhetoric. What policy is he going to do that will directly cause them to have better lives.
This. Republicans seem to think that blacks are unsophisticated voters that are easily duped by Democrats.
Republicans like to say Democrats take the black vote for granted but the only reason that could conceivably be possible is that for decades Republicans threw the black vote in the trash in order to get the racist, southern white vote. Now they know that white vote isn't enough to win them elections and it's all... what do you have to lose?!? Bahaha. Maybe these Republicans running their mouths should apologize for what they've been doing for decades. Southern Stategy
John Oliver should watch Farage speech from today. He would learn not to intervene as a foreigner in a country's presidential election.
The Federal Reserve is close to saying we are at near "full employment", however... [rquoter]Unemployment May Be Dropping, But It's Still Twice As High For Blacks The jobs numbers are in: 150,000 jobs were added to the economy in January. That's fewer than expected, though the unemployment rate fell to an eight-year low. President Obama took the opportunity this morning to take a shot at some of his more vocal opponents. "The United States of America, right now, has strongest, most durable economy in the world," he said. "I know that's still inconvenient for GOP stump speeches, as their 'Doom And Despair' tour plays in New Hampshire — I guess you cannot please everybody." There was a lot of good news in the report: It wasn't just hours worked that went up, pay went up too — and that hasn't happened in years. But those things aren't true for everyone. "One of the problems is that we continue to have a tale of two economies," says Imara Jones is a economist and writer. "[The improvement] is mostly true for people who are white, have good educations, and are tied to those sectors that are flourishing in the global economy. And then we have the economy of everyone else that has been left out and left behind". One of the groups left behind is African-Americans. Their unemployment rate, 8.8 percent, is more than double the rate for whites, 4.3 percent, and is actually closer to the 9 percent unemployment rates whites experienced in the depths of the recession. And for blacks, the rate actually went up last month. ...[/rquoter] So how have the past 8 years been for the black community? I hear it's been great in Chicago.
How is Trump going to change that? In fact, what have Republicans ever done in the black community? Do tell. Tell us how it's going to be different this time.
Don't you know? Tax cuts and deregulation, the cure to all life's problems, plus build walls and start trade wars.
Republicans don't do any one thing for any one particular race. But since you ask: They created the EPA. Opened trade with China. Attacked the crack epidemic. Supported the Clinton crime bill. Seek to addresses the non-enforcement of existing immigration laws. Question the necessity to increase worker visas. Seek a lower barrier to entry of a business (taxes). Generally better tax rhetoric. They believe - and rightfully so - that police brutality, gang violence, and terrorism are greater threats than climate change. Meanwhile, with Democrats: The only drug epidemic they will address during debates is the high-rate of use of heroin in Vermont. They believe that climate change is the most serious threat that we face - disregarding police brutality, terrorism, gang violence, etc. Their policies will help increase both illegal immigration and legal immigration (adding to the labor supply). Their pick for Fed chair believes that we are near full-employment despite a much higher unemployment rate within the black community. Talk to the Bernie Bros with their college degrees whining about "jobs" and being "underemployed". You think they have it easy with their "white privilege"? Imagine just how much more difficult things will be on the black community when there is unabated illegal immigration, doubling of student visas, doubling of worker visas, etc.
Trump is a pure Hypocrite.... Everything he said and talked about is exactly what he has become... He's a bigger liar than Clinton... T_Man
