Dum de dum... do I need a search engine for this... ummm... assuming US players... LOL... Nolan Ryan. ------------------ Falk that Mo Fo!!!
I've been had by Behad. I've found the question, but can't find the answer. And I'm no literary expert... so up to this point, I'm stumped. I'll let someone else search now. ------------------ Falk that Mo Fo!!!
yeah Babe. Nice pick up on Nixon. Nolan was cute for me, easy for many (especially google), I admit. But I got you on the Behad. I met Laurie as well and found the question. But I got the ansa toooo Mutt met Jeff bring it on.... [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited September 02, 2000).]
Sports trivia is my specialty...There should be a few people that know this first one... What team were the Astros scheduled to play on the day of the only rainout in Astrodome history? What was the last professional sports team to go out of business? Who's the only baseball commissioner that has NOT either been fired or died in office? What was the only NBA championship team to not have one of the players on the "Fifty Greatest NBA players" list? Which NFL team has won a Superbowl closest to it's home stadium? As for non sports trivia... Who applied for a patent for the telephone two hours after Alexander Graham Bell? What is the only U.S. state capital to not have a McDonald's resturant? What famous recording artist majored in Architecture at Cal Poly SLO? ------------------ If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!!
Ack! That should've been easy. Ugh. But that million dollar contract question was just too damn easy. Didn't even need a search engine. But the presidential one was a challenge, I admit. Alright, Pee... you think you got game, I think you got none. Search this. Who was the first person to throw out TWO first pitches in a game? ------------------ Falk that Mo Fo!!!
Ok, I have escaped the mind numbing daze that is my job and am home now. I got some things to do around here, but let me leave y'all with this one: What was the first rock band to sell a million copies of a single album, and what was so unique about that album that made it so popular? I keep checking in regularly. ------------------ Save our children from the TAAS test: TAAS test report card TAAS test fact sheet Dog lover here....cats beware. philadelphia I love the rest...look forward to searching for them and seeing the answer...especially the McDonald's one. I don't know why I always make the same guess on weird state capitol questions (lol), but is it Salt Lake City
Pittsburg.....interestingly enough, my little league team was on the way to see that game and had to turn back. ------------------ Save our children from the TAAS test: TAAS test report card TAAS test fact sheet Dog lover here....cats beware.

Oh... woops... missed that one... lemme go see if I can find it before I head out in a few minutes. ------------------ Falk that Mo Fo!!! [This message has been edited by Dr of Dunk (edited September 02, 2000).]
For the slow readers: What was the first rock band to sell a million copies of a single album, and what was so unique about that album that made it so popular? Got it? ------------------ Save our children from the TAAS test: TAAS test report card TAAS test fact sheet Dog lover here....cats beware.
DoD is awesome... the best we can do is challenge him... I'm out too....more trivia tomorrow (or maybe late tonight)
What was the first rock band to sell a million copies of a single album, and what was so unique about that album that made it so popular? Behad Man, you're good at stumping me. LOL. I've searched for a couple of minutes and haven't come up with anything. I gotta run... if you want to leave it out there for others, go ahead, but I'm not attacking it until I get back later... Could this end up being the longest thread in ClutchCity.net history? ------------------ Falk that Mo Fo!!!
OK DoD, I'll tell you what....I will leave this one here for you. Later tonight, if no one has answered it, I will leave a clue. Tomorrow, I work from 4am till 4pm, so I will be online all day and we can continue this. Later dudes, it's been fun. PS. one more for the road, and it's an easy one. Who has been nagging me ever since I got home from work to get away from the computer and get my sh*t together before our friends get here? Later! ------------------ Save our children from the TAAS test: TAAS test report card TAAS test fact sheet Dog lover here....cats beware.
ALBUM: Bill Haley and The Comets "Rock Around the Clock". UNIQUENESS: The first photograph to ever use mime techniques to give the illusion of floating hands. Seriously, what's up with the hands. The real uniqueness is the guitar solo by Danny Cedrone. <font color="dedfdf"> [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited September 02, 2000).]
That's sort of a vague question since "professional sports franchise" can include minor league teams, as well, and those are always going out of business. But I'll assume you meant Major League franchises in the Big Four Leagues and say the answer is: The Cleveland Barons (which didn't so much go out of business as they did get folded into the North Stars, but I think that counts as going out of business in the borad scheme of things.) ------------------ HoustonSportsBoard.com
