Apparently Quinten Demps is having himself a good day so far. He really wants a job. I remember when we played against him when he was with KC and he had a big kickoff return and was on the Texans's side line talking sh** to our then special teams coach, lol

Always liked Demps, he had a good season before getting injured, and when he came back didn't get his mojo back, and then we released him.

Hopefully he can help on punt returns, although I did like what I saw from Worthy.

Demps has gotten much better over the last 2 years. I really like this signing. It adds much needed depth at safety. He could possibly push for a starting position if he catches up quick enough.

Demps is more likely to contribute in addition to special teams. He'd be in the safety rotation. I don't see Bonner or Worthy getting time at WR during the season. They would essentially be strictly return specialists. If Demps can do both then that opens up a roster spot for somebody else.

Demps is better at safety than Worthy or Bonner are at wide receiver. At the end of the day, I think Demps brings more flexibility and depth to the 53-man roster than a KR/PR specialist, which is what Worthy or Bonner would be.

    How does Cushing's knee look?

ND Kalu said Brian appeared to be limping during drills. Also said he could be wrong :)

Bill O'Brien says Clowney is on track to play in the season opener vs the Chiefs. #Texans

    :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Trying to track down that one article where they said how Clowney's quad basically shrunk a 1/6 of what they thought it would.

Guy is going to be a great addition to this defense.

My assumption is that he gets some snaps in Pre-Season game number 4!

Bill O'Brien says Duane Brown has a hand injury, will miss some time, considered day-to-day, will not play against Saints.

Bill O'Brien said doesn't expect @DuaneBrown76 hand injury 2cause him to miss regular season opener but as always has right 2change his mind

Bill O'Brien said Duane Brown's hand injury will be able to heal on its own.

Bill O'Brien confirmed Ryan Mallett, as expected, remains the team's backup quarterback & will play along w/ Brian Hoyer& Tom Savage Sunday

O'Brien says his starters will NOT play two or three quarters vs. Saints.

Bill O'Brien said Jadeveon Clowney will not play in any of the preseason games.

Duane is expected to be back by week 1, no surgery needed, just rest. Not perceived to be a big deal.

For the Saints game, Newton will slide to LT where he's been taking snaps all pre-season and has been doing very good. Jeff Adams will then move to RT where he's much better than playing a guard position. One of the backup Centers will either play the LG position, or Jones will slide over, and one of the backup Centers will take snaps at their position.

I'm not worried too much by this for the pre-season game. The saints don't have a defense. They have only one pass rusher, and not much of a secondary. I feel bad for Brees being that he's in the twilight of his career and the Saints can't field a respectable team to help him get into another SB.

I never believe the Texans spin cycle when it comes to injuries. The hand injury could mean amputation the way they lie about the seriousness of injuries.
