<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/deSRpSn8Pyk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> meh
Been looking forward to this. I kinda liked the previous cast they had lined up though with tom cruise, matt damon, and morgan freeman.
Cast will likely make this a watch for me. That trailer is a little too blah with your typical Hollywood trailer crap these days (why does every trailer insist on putting in the same weird sound effects?). Doesn't fit a Western but doesn't mean the movie necessarily has that tone. I enjoyed Training Day and The Equalizer and it's always fun to see Peter Sarsgaard Sarsgaarding. I'll give this a look-see, I imagine.
So the plot..... lol.... I'll miss it. I love good westerns but this certainly is NOT a real western. Its certainly sold as a mindless action flick with little plot. Probably a revenge flick. Blah.... next.
Can't tell good guys from bad guys + lots of dust + cheese rock soundtrack = ultimate FAIL for western trailer
The 7 should have been: Brad Pitt George Clooney Tom Cruise Benicio Del Toro Will Smith Nick Cage Leo Dicaprio And have Drew Barrymore play the lead female for the wtf effect.
I don't know about Drew Barrymore (I actually like their casting of the lone brave female). But their "magnificent seven" more like needs Drew Carey and Jim Carrey
First thing I thought when I saw Denzel was "at least they didn't put Will Smith in it." Will watch, need to re-watch the original soon, it's been a couple of years.
Looks like they have recast the plot. It's no longer bandits but some evil businessman with a bunch of mercenaries. I've watched the original 7 samurai, the original magnificent 7, and some other derivative remakes(battle beyond the stars, and even the anime 7 samurai with cyborgs). I'll probably watch this one too, though of all of those versions, this might be the only one where the bad guys are not marauding bandits. I guess it's a sign of our times, businessman = bandit.
Not gonna be better than the original with McQueen/Bronson and company. But I'll still go see this one though.
Definely. I've always been a fan of Fuqua's action scenes. If it has cool ass shoot-outs but the story is kinda meh because of the acting? I'm still cool with it.
Speaking of good westerns, I just watched Bone Tomahawk last night. Really enjoyed it, highly recommend it
