Trading either Harden or Dwight is a suicide mission, it's delusional to push for on the board

some of your examples are proving the other point.
    1) Boston. Traded the stars who were too old. Now they can barely play but Boston has secured a good future and has a chance for a star.
    2) Utah. Deron Williams is now bought out, while Favors is looking like a future allstar.

Nice to ommit the Wolves who traded Love and got Wiggins.

I would trade Howard, they don't work well together and you can find his output again. You can't really replace Harden and he's young. Dwight's on a decline. We can keep him but really getting rid of him gives us a bigger window for success.

    Nope.

Orlando, Utah or Denver were in Conference Finals with those players, Magic actually went to the finals. Those were legit 50-win teams. They are nowhere near the 50-win team status and won't be in the next couple of years.

T-Wolves have never been good with him. Take a look on KG trade instead. 7 players for him, nobody left on a team after what? Two years?

That was more than 30 years ago, when league wasn't stacked at every position with a ton of international players and deep rotation players like nowadays. Doesn't seem legit:rolleyes:

It wasn't on Rivers, it was on KG and Thibs.

They've considered to fire him, but decided to leave because of his relationship with young players such as Rondo, Perk, Tony Allen, Leon Powe, who were supposed to improve around Big 3 core.

When Dwight gets going, he really isn't replaceable. The problem is his relationship with officials and committing dumb rookie mistakes in his 11th season.

How can you commit suicide when your championship hope is already dead?

Orlando Utah and Denver had three stars who asked out. Plus you know after rebuilding it takes some time. Now all of those teams are some of the youngest in the NBA AND have some of the brightest talent.
Utah has the second youngest starters and is just a few wins behind us! And that's with their pg being out with an acl and having noone to replace him.

And at least their stars were in the prime when traded. One of our star, Dwight is past his prime.

Trading Howard is very rational. His contract is expiring and we don't want to pay him the max. So there's a good chance he's gonna walk anyway.

Trading Harden is risky. We probably won't get equal value. And who knows what's really going on in Harden's head? When you have a franchise player like that, you just shake your head and hope for the best.

    you do NOT trade Harden.
Next off season you consider it. Not now. If you fail to get Durant, and next offseason you fail to get WB and you start to suspect that Harden will leave to go join the Lakers , you trade.

A coaching change would be the best option over trading these kinds of players. Their production is still very damn good night in and night out. Not their fault there's no decent coaching on a consistent basis.

Nobody is gonna trade anything good for Howard! Why would you give up assets for a guy you can sign in the offseason? This Rockets organization is screwed if they don't get Durant (which they won't). Rockets are gonna be mediocre for the next 2 or 3 years and losing Harden will be more of a reality and then we are back to square one!

    Trade Howard?

Maybe a sign and trade after this season is decided. Possibly. :)

But, he's not the primary problem on this team. It's not even close.

His name is going to be kicked around in trade rumors the rest of his career, as it has been since "Dwightmare." The truth is that there are not many centers with Dwight's value, mainly on the defensive end, but if he's given the ball in the right position (deep in the post), he can still drop 22/14/3 blks.

I haven't given up on the big fella, and I'm not his biggest fan.

Players have no incentive to agree to a S+T anymore and with the cap rise teams dont' have incetive either.
It's not that he's the problem, but that he could be part of the solution in case a partial rebuild is needed. Which it seems it does.

Exactly, Howard will walk. Rockets better have a deal in place.

Only a fool would want to trade Harden right now, but Dwight is utterly worthless. His box score numbers look good, but I don't think there is much correlation between his play and us winning anymore... though I haven't checked too many advanced stats on that this year.

Why try and get something back? I prefer to have the open cap space for FA this summer if he leaves

so you would say no to two first rounders and prefer nothing?
If you want capspace anyway gotta get rid of Brewer first.

Why would any team give away two first rounders for Howard who can walk in a couple of months? its a rental! And of course you get rid of Brew first but can you get back an expiring for him? How many teams are gonna just line up to take his 8M dollar contract off your hands?

No he's not, still incredibly athletic with great production plus above average defense.
