THIS! I also include the Warriors. From them we would acquire Stephen Curry for Luis Scola, Kyle Lowry, and filler. It doesn't make sense now but I've been messing with the Trade Machine for about a month and this would help all of the teams involved, while also giving us height and youth... I'll try and find the link to it.
If I could see any player be a Rocket after the deadline that is realistic and would make me happy it would have to be Steph Curry. The kid has got game and is for some reason mentioned in trades. I doubt we get him but I would be ecstatic.
Haven't had time to look through the thread. I think a stopgap at C - Nazr Mohammad from Charlotte. Maybe we go S.Jackson rather than G. Wallace? Brooks for A. Randolph if NY doesn't need a 1st round pick.
I would be too. It's almost the same situation with Kevin Martin and Evans in Sacramento last year. Curry and Ellis don't really mesh well together. Lately though Curry has been playing out of his mind.
If I had to guess who we are targeting I would say Stephan Curry, Zach Randolph, OJ Mayo, Gerald Wallace, and Nene. I would say if we don't get those guys, we aren't going to get a difference maker. I'm sure we will still see some trades regardless but outside of those guys I'm predicting us picking up draft picks or non-starters from other teams.
I'll be ticked if Morey trades for Kamen! He does nothing for this teams longterm future. DeAndre Jordan would be a nice pickup since he would add a defensive presence around the basket. Plus, he knows how to finish a play and he continues to improve his game. However, at this point I'd prefer the Rockets to acquire a few more draft picks so land a young up-n-coming player.
Prediction: Moneyball is a failed philosophy because new "assets" cannot be accumulated faster than old ones deteriorate or need to be resigned at fair market value. Proof: Houston Rockets
