Tracy McGrady makes Hall of Fame on April Fool's Day (Rudy snubbed again)

You know Rudy T leaves quite a legacy in Houston and certainly he was a big part of bringing back to back titles here(Houston fans will always remember his 'heart of a champion' line) but he's arguably most famous among the greater public for getting his face rearranged by Kermit Washington and for his disastrous stint in LA replacing Phil Jackson. I'm not saying that should count against him, but he's one of those guys who's most successful moments have been when people weren't really paying attention - people didn't watch NBA as much back in the days when he was a 5 time all star, they didn't care about team USA basketball when Rudy T was winning without an All Star team, and even his two titles always come with an asterisk outside of Houston because the rest of the basketball world continues to be all on Michael Jordan's nuts.

...I guess what I'm saying is while he deserves mention as a HOFer, he is fighting an uphill battle swaying the greater basketball population.

Yup, T-Mac was one of the greats, as evidenced by his first ballot HOF selection. This is a FACT. I go by what is real. Anyone who is NOT ecstatic about this is a fake Rockets fan.

Tracy McGrady has been hated on this forum by the majority for almost 10 years

 

Respect is a hard thing, even if you joined in 1998 or 2015, and are 60 years old, live in the city of houston your whole life., Died moved to washington, and still came back to dallas, you aint a true forum fan unless you kiss some of these 16 year old forum fans butts. If anyone is a "fake Rocket fan" it is Tracy. He picked the opposing team to win in the middle of the playoffs, when HE WAS ON THE TEAM. He threw his teammates under the bus countless times. He never accepted responsibility, and he still refuses to. Tracy McGrady is Dwight Howard. For a REAL Rocket fan, Chuck Hayes, Shane Battier, Yao Ming, Dikembe Mutombo, and hell even Rafer Alston represented HOUSTON far better. Let's not even mention Rudy T who is FAR AND AWAY more deserving from a Houstonian's perspective.

Anyone who IS ecstatic about Tracy in the HOF IS a fake HOUSTON fan.

People just hate fake fans making excuses for playoff failures and one of the weakest tenures for a max salary player in Rockets history

He and Steve Francis are tied for accomplishing nothing as max salary players

Harden walks all over Tmac without even trying

And let's not even compare Dream and Moses Malone

 

At least Steve bleeds Rockets Red. That dude stuck up for his teammates and went down swinging to his last breath.

I will always respect Steve for that, and he was less talented, with less talent around him.



Houston fans don't ask for much. Bust your ass and show some heart.

I think Harden still has much to prove in this regard. The jury is out on him still.

Also Steve was our rookie and we saw him grow into an all star.

Tmac has always represented Tmac and left organizations when he felt it wasn't in his best interest.

Except for the Rockets, Morey felt it wasn't in the Rockets best interest to keep him.
