The 2nd seed argument is a joke. It's great to have it because it's homecourt most of the way, but that's about it. They have all similar records and we could have easily ended up 6th. Doesn't really mean much head to head. That's all related to regular season movement. It ended in mid april and this is a new season, especially in the second round, and especially this year, given the tight race. The rockets screwed up in major way. They were already underdogs...likely to go 6 or 7 games...likely to trade wins. It was extremely important to get that first win, especially with CP out. Now they're playing from behind and have to win two in a row at some point, although not impossible, it's unlikely, given how confident the Clippers are. If CP comes back, they instantly have the edge in crunch time going forward.
And many of them are the same people who warned us not to get cocky when we had a 3-0 lead on the Mavs: "This is FAR from over!"

Little camper this could be a long playoff run so better toughen up and quit saying crazy things. Remember every game has two halves and four quarters. Overall the Rockets have exceeded most expectations. The Rockets hate to lose and despite all the injuries they never lost more than two games in a row in the long long season.
pfft u sound just like those clowns on NBA radio and ESPN at least have an original take. Have faith in The Beard he's been a great clutch player all year and he's done it in the WCF, something CP3 can't relate to.
So just because it's not an original take, it can't be accurate or valid? Basketball is a team sport... as good as Harden is, he's not on a Lebron level, where he can just literally take over a game at will. He needs help and the help isn't consistently very good or timely.
The very predictable irony demonstrated by all those who proclaimed doom and a lost season through the first six quarters of this series, claiming the Rockets to be weak-minded and quitters, is that those very people intellectually and emotionally were weak-minded and quit on their team. They were the true quitters. Quitters always find reason to do so because it is harder to persevere with faith and courage than to rationalize defeat. It is, unfortunately, a significant characteristic of the human condition for a very many. These Rockets had plenty of reasons to quit all season due to injuries. They didn't. Most teams play eight come the playoffs. These Rockets currently are missing 25% of those eight, with at least one of those being a starter. They didn't quit before and they won't quit now. It has been proven that quitting is not in their nature, They played poorly in game 1 and gutted it out in game 2, leaving them with precisely the same record as every other team in the second round. But one thing is for sure. The quitters on this board will be out in force again at a moment's notice in game 3. It is, unfortunately, their nature. That is the irony.
