those of you bashing Toronto are idiots, great trade for them. Gay is a guy who hasnt really played up to his potential. Its his team now, i can see him doing great in TO.
Who cares. The Rockets already won the deal, and no one in the draft will be as good as Harden. The Rockets were going to lose Martin for nothing or get a pick out of him and Lamb is too small for the NBA. He will take a while to develop.
One was 23 year old guy with 3 years of experience who already had a record of putting up insanely efficient seasons as the third wheel of the Grizzlies and visibly improved every year. The other is a 26 year old player in his seventh season who has not improved since his second year, has actually been worse than normal this season, and has never been that efficient even as third/4th wheel. This is a holy **** terrible trade for the Raptors, a holy **** terrible franchise. Toronto will improve marginally, but they're not going anywhere.

How many teams go anywhere without a Duncan, Kobe, Durant, Shaq or LeBron though? This isn't the NFL. It's a league for superstars and no legit superstar is going to Toronto. Before anyone mentions tanking there's no guarantee you'll become the next OKC. You could just as easily end up becoming a perennial loser like the Kings, Bobcats, Wizards etc
@WojYahooNBA: Pistons sending Tayshaun Prince onto Memphis for Jose Calderon to complete 3-way deal with Toronto, sources tell Y!
It's all for BC to keep his job, and I think the Ottawa pension fund is stupid enough to keep him around.
good trade for all i think. assuming they end up doing the prince for calderon swap: the grizz get out of gay's contract. if they are really hurting for cash this is a huge bonus. plus they get a decent young big guy and prince fills a need and brings experience. the raps take on an all star level talent for an ending contract, and an average young big. the second rounder is just a sweetener for grizz. even the pistons win by getting a real PG on the roster who should help their bigs out a lot.
Wow. Great move by Detroit, upgrading Daye with Davis. Their frontcourt going forward is sick, even if Drummond doesn't improve.
It wasn't his team in memphis? I'm pretty sure that was the thought when he extended. The fact that he didn't play to his potential after is exactly the problem. DeRozan is basically in the same boat, pre-extension. It doesn't matter how great Gay does, if the team doesn't do so great. that starting lineup is an 19 feet and in line up. Where is the spacing going to come? They'll probably get an immediate boost in morale, especially Lowry, since he loves Rudy. However, they are going to have to pay or let go of some of these big names before they have time to see who's going to work out and who isn't.
Trashing of Gay in Memphis begins....now.

Dealing Rudy isn't "blowing up" anything. He's been terrible.
