After the highs and lows of the last two weeks, and after seeing Jeff's/Clutch's apology for the downtime, I couldn't help but stop and realize what an addiction this site has become. Or to put it better, what a big part of being a Rocket fan this site is. It long ago became a habit to check this site at least once or twice daily for any news, scoops, ideas, etc. It's kind of like hanging around a huge water cooler with a bunch of fellow fans every day. Except that, for the most part, we have no clue who we're talking to, save for usernames!

I though it might be a good time to look back at your time at ClutchFans/ClutchCity and share some of the top moments that have stuck with you. Not necessarily top moments for the team, but rather for this site. For me:

    1. Two Weeks of TMac----Up and down roller coaster, record breaking posts, anxiety, debates, and celebration.

    2. Yao's Journey----trips to China, naysayers, negotiations, curiosity, and finally, the most followed motorcade since OJ.

    3. Eddie's Draft----though it ended sadly, the explosion resulting from the trade during the draft was awesome!

    4. The rockHEAD Hakeem stalking----I don't know exactly why, but this is still the funniest memory I have of this site. Not quite sure if it's commendable work on behalf of a dedicated fan and site member risking his job, or a disturbed individual who needs help. The rest of us must be just as sick because we honored him by establishing and naming the "rockHEAD Rule" after him.

Thanks again Clutch, Jeff, crew and fellow Rocket fans. Let's hear it. What do you guys consider top moments?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but that picture was worth a thousand posts. :D

Agreed, but don't forget the "Are you hot?" thread, with the cereal box, dirty socks, and CDR spindle.

this guy named YoYao was in the hangout...and he talked about sex and how undersexed he was. and then started talking about lingerie. said he thought it wouldn't be "fomfotable" for girls to sleep in that.

Technically, it wasn't Francis being stalked. It was supposedly a Rockets employee discussing the trade that would land Francis. But, the legend lives on. :)

even though i wasn't here for it, maybe maybe no has to be the most famous thing on here. so applicable to almost anything. ahead of its time really.

even though i never got into the YoYao thing as much as others, that picture was epic. you noticed something new and hilarious everytime you looked at it, though the cereal box was far and away the best part.

if you thought the waiting for tmac was bad, the yao saga was just crazy. all the new posters telling us what he had for breakfast every morning, wondering if we were taking the right steps to get him, wondering if we should get him, everything about that was draining.

    pornstar thread.

the massive 2205 post tmac thread. unbelievable.

To me four things stand out about the bbs :

    1) rocketsfan34's eavesdropping on a phonecall at the mall while buying shoes and overhearing that Steve Francis would be a Rocket.

    2) Hakeem leaving.

    3) mcmark going MIA after 9/11 and people hoping the best for him.

    4) watching the chat explode during various points in the bbs history... EG trade, Yao Ming lottery, etc.

No, that was mcmark who everyone was worried about.

heypartner found out his name and contacted a relative to see if he was ok.

rf34's post about Francis was certainly memorable, and mcmark's whereabouts was a frightening time.

Nothing tops LHutz's posts IMHO. Especially the one where he took a date out to dinner and she had a yellow eye and he went to use the restroom and never went back LOL. I was laughing so hard at that post it took me about an hour to get through the whole thing.

IIRC Clutch posted about some people in the Rockets organization asking him who the heck LHutz was.

    Some memorable LHutz posts:

empiric posting a thread that said "WE WILL LOSE THE NEXT 15 GAMES!!!"

Everyone bashed him when he posted that. Then Houston lost around 15 games in a row (can't remember exactly), when Francis was injured.

And I haven't seen him post since.

"maybe maybe no" has gotta be my #1, but I certainly remember almost everything mentioned so far other than the Francis trade thing.
