speak for yourself I just hate the mavericks and dallas in general.

les has brought in drexler, pippen, barkley, glen rice, steve francis (via pick), mutumbo, mcgrady to name a few. He has consistently gone after talent and more so than cuban..To suggest alexander is somehow at fault isoutright stupid.

Dirk has done has good fortune overall in terms of injuries and ming and mcgraddy did not. Thats the way the cookie crumbles, and we have had bad injuries. We had our role team.. Barry and sura are to stoyavic and barea as mcgrady is to terry and ming is to nowitzski... cuban is no magic wand and he sucks as does anyone who lets a 2 time mvp go like steve nash. les<cuban...

I can't believe you listed Glen Rice, he was garbage when he came to the Rockets.

Drexler/Pippen/Barkley came because of Hakeem not Les.

Nice try, but posting some videos doesn't prove your own point. In fact, it was you who wanted to emulate "winners." See below. What is YOUR definition of success?

You know what, yeah you're right, let's model our team on this instead.

I think there will always be a special place in my heart for hating the Lakers and the Jazz. But Dallas, seeing this run that they're on and realizing there are other teams deserving of my scorn (Heat), well I've softened my stance on them.

I won't forget the series against them a few years back, but honestly, what's the point in clinging to hatred resulting from it? There are only 2 players left from that team, and while the Rockets have been largely irrelevant and injury prone over the decade, Dallas has continues to be one of the top teams. Wish we could have that success.

Cuban's an owner you can easily hate, but would love to be writing the paychecks for your team.

Dirk is never gonna be one of my favorite players, but he earns some respect in my book for the way he's playing right now. Plus he's chosen to do something very few players do nowadays, stay with the same team.

Dallas has been through hell and back, suffering some devastating playoff losses. Seeing them on the brink of another meltdown against Portland and responding the way they did has made a temporary fan out of me.

Two of your top reasons your hate intensified for the Mavs can be applied to the Heat as well. The Terry hate is validated.

Wade and Lebron get cocky after big plays too. And Wade won the title while the Tmac/Yao experiment was failing here, so if you'd hate the Mavs for being better, you'd have to hate the Heat for being better than that.

What, exactly, does questionable decisions by an NBA official have to do with the Mavs blueprint?

I understand your super fan hatred of the Mavericks and maybe the city of Dallas.

What I like about the organization that they are doing is that they are stable, they have a combination of leadership, star players, bench and coaching.
I think their owner truly cares about the success of the franchise.

Success for who? the current Rockets? making the playoffs. I'll be happy because, right now, we don't have a championship caliber team.

And the refs screwing the Rockets are nothing new. Go see 93 Rockets last game vs the Spurs with home court advantage vs the Sonics on the line.

I don’t hate Lebron (or Drexler in your example) for making superfriends, just don’t respect the way he did it. All I am just saying is it is admirable to me that Dirk stayed loyal to one team, and I respect that and can root for that.

I apologize if I am offending you for liking a team that Rockets fans are very sensitive about. I am Slovenian, so from what I gather from here, I did not understand the whole geographical aspect of this. Sort of like how neighboring countries here hate one another because of pain from the war. This is how I am seeing Houston Dallas views one another and I did not understand.

Again, ignoring points. It's really becoming pointless to respond to you, because you never address any real points, you just attempt to attack me directly instead. Awesome.

Now, to actually address you points...did you not say we should emulate our own rivals to create our own success? Everything you're saying about the Mavs organization easily translates into "why don't we emulate the Lakers and Spurs"...yet you're the one that gets all "superfan" and with the "oh no he didn't" videos.

Success for the Rockets of course, which clearly means being more Mav like, but most certainly not more Lakers or Spurs like, no sir.

It's really amusing how I'm the superfan, yet you're the one attempting to "prove" your "true" Rockets fandom by bringing up past games and past events.

Now to take a page from your own book...

You don't like the mavs hate thread? Don't participate in it. The fact that you did means it is obviously believe it is relevant.

Well none the reasons you give on why you hate the Mavericks are of a regular fan or have any logical reason to it.

It is relevant because the Mavericks are in the WCF and the Rockets are not, so therefore people who 'hate' the Mavericks would make a thread because they are where the Rockets want to be.

Nobody is making a reasons why I hate the Bobcats thread.

    I don't need to prove my Rockets fandom. I'm a 99er.

I don't get what's all the fuss about the 2005 Mavs series. Sure, the Finley out of bound call hurt. But even if we had beat Dallas, that squad had no chance against the prime Nash/Stoudamire, or Duncan/Parker/Manu. Remember our starters? David Wesley, Ryan freaking Bowen, and a hurt Sura.

The fuss is that the Rockets were hyped up by the fans and the media that this is the team to win it all.

Magic Johnson said after game 2 that Yao and Tmac were the next Shaq and Kobe.

Losing that series was devastating and shattered the belief that this was the team of the future.

Yao and TMac were playing like Shaq and Kobe. But they just didn't have the Horry/Fisher to bail them out. Imagine if only we had Lowry/Scola/KMart on that 2005 squad...

but we all believed that were that good. especially after beating them in dallas.
When Magic declared them the next Kobe/Shaq, then we thought we were going to be a dynasty.

    damn.
