The chronicle is having a top 15 of Houston sports teams controversial calls, 6 of which of the Rockets, but the one from last night does not really count as it is pale in comparison to the other 5: I would say that their are some serious ones missing (all play-offs): - 2008 foul on Scola due to AK47 flop in game 1, on a game tying 3 by Bobby J (how anyone could forget that and want AK47 is beyond me!) - 2009 non-calls on Kobe's elbow work to Artest & Battier and mild punishment for Fisher's elbow to Scola - 2005 out of bounds steal by the one who will not be mentioned What are some other calls that have really had big implications for the play-offs, seeding or otherwise?
Yes, please, more threads that pour salt on open wounds, yes. Please, continue! We all love these. Seriously, why did you think these are good ideas for threads? They bring back dark moments, and you want to discuss them? WOW. Let the Chronicle be the troller, man. Don't bring those in here... last night's game was a loss of the entire game, not just one call. The team should have beat the Grizzlies without a single call. "I just want my thread to be popular, man!"
against the lakers when kobe had a career high in fta, rockets went most of the 4th quarter fouling the lakers. i remember that game, luke walton won it for us with his tip in. he had 27 free throws, refs were sucking his dick, and he STILL COMPLAINED ABOUT NOT GETTING ENOUGH CALLS! thats wat pissed me off the most about that game, i remember yelling at the tv. KOBE YOU LITTLE b****! http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=271030013
Spurs overtime tip in clearly after the clock expired in 93 on the last game of the regular season. Costs the rockets home court vs Seattle where both teams didn't lose a home game .
That mofo was way out bounds and the Ref looked and saw with his own eyes and let it go. Dude should have his nuts tied together then hung upside by them.
1993 WCSF Game 7. That game might have kept us from playing Jordan in the finals and MAYBE even 3 peating.
Oh, man, huge memory rush. I remember watching that game. I was nine. I don't remember anything else about it except that screwed-up call. I remember them going back through the replays and Bill Worrell 22 years ago pointing out that the timer went off before it left Robinson's hands. He just sort of dropped it in, but it shouldn't have counted. I think Calvin was color broadcaster back then beside Bill, and, man, they were so pissed. Just as pissed as they get now about bad calls. I was pissed. Everybody was. I think they can review those plays now, but back then there was nothing that could be done. It's amazing the things that get burned into our young memories.
didn't result in a loss, but the Utah scorekeeper not starting the clock for about 8 seconds to give the Jazz more time on their last shot. I can still hear Gene and Jim yelling "they haven't started the clock. start the time clock.
