It's ridiculous how under appreciated Tim Duncan is. Duncan is the best two way big man of all time. Hakeem may have had a better peak, but Duncan learned how to pass(and is one of the best big man doing that) before he was 30 and he did it longer. And is still doing it. He anchored the best defense in past 15 years and had one of the best postseason in 2003. Averaged 24/17/5/5 in the finals.
Don't feel bad dude, I'm not old enough to have had the privilege of watching pre-90's basketball either. Just next time before you post, try going to Youtube instead of Basketball Reference.
I don't get everyone's obsession with Tim Duncan... He's great, don't get me wrong. But some of you guys have him ahead Lebron, or Kobe, or Hakeem, or shaq, or Bird!? Seriously!? He's a top 5 PF, HOFer, all that good stuff... But IMO he is almost universally overrated!
I think that some people are forgetting how good Clyde was. Just because he is a bad broadcaster doesn't mean he was a bad player. soo many kids on clutchfans these days.
LOLs Besides Magic being the best passer and dribbler ever, he was Mr Intangible, too. The Intangible nature of Magic was that his love for the game was so infectious. Every e v e r y NBA player wanted to play with him (except Bird and Jordan who thrived on challenges like playing against the best, not WITH the best -- I'm looking at you Lebron). Magic got more out of every player on his team than any other Leader of a Team in the history of basketball.
anyone putting durant over malone at this stage on his carreer is just blind. I know he is hated here, but he was a beast, better than kg and only behind duncan at the pf spot. Lol at dirk. 1 . jordan 2. magic/bird 3. hakeem/duncan 4. shaq 5. moses 6. Lebron 7. kobe 8. Malone 9. Kg 10. this one is hard, barkley, isiah , pippen, kidd, stockton they all got a chance
First I think Magic is slightly overrated (more like top 5), and you cannot blame Lebron in the same breathe as praising Magic and /or Bird Magic teammates Kareem, Worthy, Mcadoo, Cooper, Byron Scott, Kupchak Bird teammates Parrish, Dennis Johnson, Mchale, Ainge Talk about overkill teams, Lebron made it to the Finals with one of the worst supporting cast of all time.
It's funny that the people downgrading Magic don't seem to have watched his era. Magic wasn't a stats guy, he was a winning/team first guy. All you really need to know about Magic is that as a rookie, he started an NBA Finals game six at center and dropped 42 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assists. I repeat as a rookie, he was the Finals MVP.
There is just no way for me to rank Duncan over Hakeem no matter how many more hardware Duncan has or will in. Duncan's has been a great player, Hakeem, to me, is the Pele of post players. He's done things at the post position that has never been done before, and probably will never be duplicated.
1. Lebron James. The guy is the best player ever. 2. MJ 3. Larry Bird 4. Tim Duncan 5. Hakeem 6. Shaq 7. Kobe 8. Clyde Drexler 9. Allen Iverson 10. Kevin Durant
I'm sorry but there is no way Drexler should be over KG or Karl Malone. Hell, most neutral smart basketball fans put Pippen over Drexler.
Allen Iverson?!?! LMAO <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XixBwzJ4KTk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Isiah Thomas > AI
