Harden is shooting 42.6% and WB is 41.3%. WB is "crappy" and Harden is not? Comparing rebounds and assists, WB is ahead 5.1 & 8.6 vs 4.2 & 5.3. Wanna re-state your case?
Glad to know you're someone who think getting to the basket and get fouled is a worthless play, and that you like to punish players for attempting more 3s. Both of which Harden has done more of than Westbrook. But yes, Harden is just as crappy as Westbrook at shooting because more of his shots are fouled, and more of his shots are 'lower percentage' 3s that despite count 1.5 times more than a traditional basket, is punished by your way incredible logic. As for assists, I'm glad you put our esteemed Rockets shooters on par with Kevin Martin, Kevin Durant, etc. of the Thunder. Yes, obviously it's a fair comparison between a SG of a mediocre shooting team and the PG of the team 2nd in the NBA in both shooting and 3pt shooting. Oh, and Harden gets 4 more ppg scoring than Westbrook despite SHOOTING LESS than Westbrook. But don't let that get in the way of your Westbrook love.
Westbrook has durant on in his team. He definitely does not have to force his shots as much as harden does for the rockets since durant will likely be the primary guy to force a shot. If we had Westbrook instead of harden, I would not doubt for a second that his shooting percentage would be well into the 30's. I'd also expect his assist numbers would drop as well, likely to 7 or even 6 because the thunder have more dependable guys who can shoot the three and more big guys who are better at finishing compared to the rockets. considering the above, I'm sure glad we have harden on our team instead of Westbrook.

Here's a composite ranking based on 4 player-rating stats for this season only: WS/48, PER, RAPM, and VORP. I looked at player rankings for each stat. If the player fell outside of top 20 in any particular stat, I treat their rating as 25 for that stat. So, after the top 15 or so, I would say this becomes fairly unreliable. For top 10, it gives an interesting list, with a few surprises. WS/48: win shared per 48 minutes, min. 10 games, 28 mpg PER: Hollinger's player efficiency rating, min. 10 games, 28 mpg RAPM: regularized adjusted +/- VORP: value over replacement player, based on adjusted statistical +/- Code: Rnk Player RTG WS/48 PER RAPM VORP 1 LeBron James 2.25 5 1 1 2 2 Chris Paul 3 3 4 2 3 3 Kevin Durant 3.75 2 2 10 1 4 Tim Duncan 5 4 3 6 7 5 Tyson Chandler 8 1 10 5 16 6 Marc Gasol 9.5 6 19 7 6 7 Kobe Bryant 10.25 7 5 NR 4 8 Dwight Howard 10.5 14 12 3 13 9 Anderson Varejao 12.75 9 7 NR 10 10 Mike Conley 12.75 10 15 17 9 11 Chris Bosh 13.25 8 6 NR 14 12 Russell Westbrook 15.5 18 14 NR 5 13 Carmelo Anthony 16.25 13 8 NR 19 14 James Harden 16.75 NR 16 18 8 15 Joakim Noah 17.25 20 NR 13 11 16 Goran Dragic 17.75 17 11 NR 18 17 Brook Lopez 18.5 15 9 NR NR 18 Serge Ibaka 19.5 11 17 NR NR 19 Manu Ginobili 19.75 NR NR 4 NR 20 Josh Smith 20.75 NR NR 8 NR Some observations: Dwyane Wade doesn't show up. Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol, Anderson Varejao all make the top 10 in this ranking These stats really like Mike Conley -- didn't expect him to rank so well across the board. League's most underrated PG?
I still don't see Carmelo getting past the first round. But hopefully for him he proves me wrong. Dwight should be in there, not so much for his offense, but his crazy D (Ya I know that sounds...ya) Dwade need to pick his game up, or he won't be in the top ten much longer
1. Jeremy Lin. 2. Jeremy Lin 3. Jeremy Lin.. Jk. Lebron, Durant, CP3, Melo, Kobe, Love, Rondo, M. Gasol, Randolph, Duncan, Parker. From their play thus far this year.
Harden has regressed from last season, so unless you thought that he was a top 10 player last season, he is not now either.
Raw FG% is a pretty terrible stat honestly. Very inconclusive. Harden's TS% is .574 and WB's is .507 this season. However, despite the huge difference in their shooting efficiencies, they've been comparable level players this season. Mainly because WB is dishing almost twice as many assists per 36.
Ok so let me get this straight your asking for the top 10 NBA players in the league RIGHT now... but then you through Dirk out there who hasn't played all season Anyways: 1)LeBum 2)Durant 3)Kobe 4)Rondo 5)Melo 6)Randolph 7)CP3 8)Westbrick 9)Harden 10)Holiday
This ranking system actually underscores an important fact that many people outside of the grizzlies fans themselves know: that, while Rudy Gay and Zach Randolph grab the headlines, actually the engine that makes the grizzlies run are: Marc Gasol and Mike Conley Jr. If you guys haven't seen Mike jr play this year, you are in for a wideeyed experience. Conley has made himself into one of the best point guards in the west, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a all star nod. Of course, Westbrook and CP3 are going to make it. But after those guys, Conley is right there with anybody.
1) bron bron 2) durantula 3) cp3 4) dwight 5) love 6) drose(i know hes been injured but hes a super beast) 7) duncan 8) kobe 9) harden 10) melo
As a shooter for getting his PG raw assist numbers? Yes. I'd take him over ANY Rockets player right now. And that includes James Harden, who I don't think is nearly the off-the-ball player Martin is.
It's hard to play off the ball when you don't have a guy to consistently create and make plays and draw double teams. You call those guys who can do that superstars.
