TNT crew says Rockets aren't legit contenders; Howard isn't a great player.

How can you score 73pts in the first half, and ONLY 19pts in the second half?

COACHING!!!! BAD COACHING!!! We simply got outcoached! Brooks made adjustments at halftime, whether it was strategy, or simply cussing his players out they responded. McHale, either by the lack of strategy or motivational skills simply let the game be decided by the opposing coach!

It's a sad day in Muddville...:(

OKC is a bad matchup for Howard. Perk and Ibaka are too long and cause problems for him.

Knee jerk reaction by the TNT crew is knee jerk. The game is all about match-ups.

Rockets offense is simple so not many adjustments Mchale can make when you only shoot 3's and drive to paint. \

Defensively, the players dont have that "swarming" mentality that OKC showed. OKC kept them halfcourt and croweded the 3pt line forcing them to throw to Dwight or drive into Ibaka

McFail needs to be fired, but I've defended Morey on that one since it's tough to justify canning the guy now since it's the middle of the season and the team has never been below .500 at any point during the year. Plus there's no guarantee even if you did fire McFail today that Karl or JVG would be eager to take over the squad mid-season with no opportunity for a training camp first(just ask Mike D'Antoni how that worked out). Now if this team loses in the first round again, then at that point Morey is out of excuses. Bringing back McFail would signify that this organization is not serious about winning a title(or doesn't have a clue how to).

But I agree about changes needing to be made in terms of the roster. And for that, there's no excuse for waiting. The Rockets have tradeable assets, both in terms of players and draft picks. And they also have to ability to go out and sign additional players. That's how they landed Beverley last year. I don't get why Morey has done nothing to improve this team. He has to know they have a lousy bench and the starters are being forced to log heavy minutes. Memphis just traded for Courtney Lee(who BTW is playing great for them). The Warriors just traded for a couple of guys. Where are Morey's moves?

    TNT crew is right.

Except I think Howard is a great player, but we don't use him right. He's not Duncan or some great post player, no. We should be picking and rolling him till the other teams eyes bleed.

But they are right that we aren't contenders. That should be apparent.

    Water is wet.

Look at the bench! Garcia= garbage , brewer= garbage, Asik= overpaid and injured, Lin= overpaid and inconsistent, Casspi= inconsistent , Smith= injured and played like garbage.

Theres nothing other teams want. Lee and Bayless was a fair trade as we saw bayless light houston up 3 games ago.

OKC had bad defensive rotations in the first half, second half they rushed the 3pt line and switched on every screen. Those were the only 2 things they changed.

So we both agree that Brooks made adjustments, what adjustments did we make to counter?

Asik is not injured. He quit on the team, so the Rockets are allowing him to sit at home and stew over losing playing time to Dwight. If Morey had moved him early on before this fake injury/pouting debacle hurt his trade value, we would've gotten something decent in return and could've had a deeper bench to help us out all this time.

Garcia IS garbage. I agree 100%. So why not go out and sign someone else if a trade isn't in the cards? Don't tell me we can't find a single player out there in the entire world who can come in and at least knock down open shots.

Casspi is inconsistent. Again, I agree. If McFail wasn't so hellbent on never playing D-Mo, that wouldn't be such an issue. Hopefully D-Mo's recent play(along with the lack of quality depth) forces his hand though.

Lin I'm willing to be patient with. He seemed to thrive early this season in the backup PG role. I'm hoping he recaptures that spark once Bev returns in a week or so.

    Brewer? Yeah, nuff said.

Smith needs to go. This has almost been a wasted season for him. If the guy is constantly injuring his knee, then it's probably not a bad idea to go find a big man who can at least suit up for you on a nightly basis. Especially if Asik is never gonna play for this team again.

Its all true. Dwight thinks he's Hakeem but he's not. He has to quit getting bullied off the block and quit getting his shot blocked if he wants to touch the ball every single posession. McHale has to draw up some plays to get him isolated on the block too though. He's catching the ball 15 feet away some posessions.

This thread is one reason why I mostly lurk in the GARM. It wasn't that long ago that Clutchfans were proclaiming this year's Rockets a lock to go to the Finals and now after one bad game you have people talking about how the Rockets are done and we need to fire the coach and trade half the team.

Don't forget the witless and childish "McFail" name-calling. We have that going for us too, which is nice.

This team is an average team.

Player is either overrated or underrated, equals to AVG.

Dwight is still light years away from being the savvy post players Shaq and Barkley were, but how can they say Dwight's post game hasn't improved?

Pretender team. Inconsisent lineups, energy, bench, starters. Just no motivation to play well together. Everytime it looks like they have an identity, it goes back to being lost on defense and just passing the ball around for a contested 3.

The team has holes everywhere and it begins with a clueless coach. 19 points in one half and an all time low? Seriously? That is unacceptable

When the going gets tough and teams lock in on D, McHale is lost for ideas as he has no set plays to get an easy basket.
