I think the Knicks can land TMac but they would have to give up so much of their future that it wouldn't be worth it, but I've seen the Knicks make some bad moves in the past...
As it gets closer to the trading deadline it is looking like TMac will finally get his wish and prove himself on another team. I still believe Morey will trade TMac and free up some monies in the process to get the players they feel will contribute this season and be an asset next season. I can't wait find out what Morey comes with, it will be an exciting time in H-Town. 19 more days yeah, finally.
It can't happen that is why I'm saying that most likely New York is way down the list on trade partners with the Rockets.
if we could get some young talent and expirings back I'm all for it. Young talent that could turn into valuable trade pieces later on. I don't want us to take back any bad contracts unless they expire this year. People need to get off of this Iggy/Dalembert trade as being a no brainer. It's a cap hindering trade and I'm against it.
I'm for getting a lottery pick rather than a first round playoff exit. I doubt Morey just wants Jordan Hill or Toney Douglas for T-mac either, they're both at least a year (if ever) away from contributing as starters or 6th men.
That's just talk. If the Rockets were to say that they would buy him out if they couldn't trade him, that would bring down his trade value and teams would just wait for him to be bought out to get him without having to give anything up.
Iv'e watched Iggy play a few times, and at best I see him as an upgraded Trevor Ariza honestly. He is not a dominant offensive player like a joe johnson, but he provides yet another long and athletic defensive wing who can score and create a little bit. Pairing him and Ariza would provide an excellent pair of wing defenders that are young, long, and very athletic. That could be interesting. This team below would be contenders: Aaron Brooks/Lowry Iggy/Budinger Ariza/Battier Landry/Scola Yao/Hayes/Andersen Of course, once Yao goes down (again) we are again back to square one.
Iggy is a lite Shawn Marion(at his peak). Not good enough to make us a contender. He also is not a good fit with Yao. I think he could fit in better with Bosh's outside/inside game.

I think we would be contenders because of our defense alone with that squad. You put Trevor and Iggy out there together and you have a great defensive tandem, and Yao would further strengthen it because it would allow Ariza and Iggy to be aggresive defenders. I think Yao is key to that tho, and if he goes out it kind of falls apart. I think you comparison to marion is a little off, as marion can't create of the dribble like Iggy can and was largely a product of The suns system (and nash). I see Trevor's ceiling being Andre Iguodala. Offensively we would be fine as well. Landry/Scola makes it harder to front Yao because of their shot-making abilities from mid-range, and Aaron provides more than enough offense from the gaurd position. My only worry would be Ariza/Iggy's ability to knock down open threes. Our bench would be even stronger, as Hayes and Battier are moved there along with Lowry and Budinger. We would actually be solid 1-5 for BOTH starting and bench units. That is pretty rare, even for most contenders.
I'm starting to believe this is the most realistic deal. They send over the minimum amount of expirings to match mcg's 75%. Maybe they send over a 2nd rounder for doing business. Rockets save some lux tax.
Ummm, I don't really see that comparison at all... I mean I see the defensive similarities, but they are reasonably different... Iggy+Yao on this current team = contenders... Young Mutombo in Dalembert would help too... Brooks Andre Iguodala Trevor Ariza Luis Scola Yao Ming I believe we could move Battier's contract in order to retain Luis and Lowry next year If we made this deal...
In the rumor that Morey turned down Iggy/Dalembert/Lou for Tmac/cook/lowry I'd think taking that deal is as close to a no brainier as we are going to get.
