actually, i think this sux for Texans' fans. Jeff Fisher is an overrated coach. Him leaving is a good thing for the titans. After 16 years, you can say without a doubt that his tenure there was mediocre at best. 6 winning seasons? i think any coach gets that by default if given 16 chances.

Isn't Fisher just like Kubiak? I well liked coach by the players that can put together a dynamic offense but has problems motivating his players so they choke the big games?

    Fisher? Dynamic offense??

Actually, they're quite different. Fisher's teams typically overachieve during the regular season only to fail once they make the playoffs. Kubiak's teams underachieve during the regular season and never even make the playoffs.

They've always had good offenses for not having **** at the QB. Guess it's more on Chris Johnson's part then his.

He had Steve McNair for most of his time with the Oilers/Titans.

I'm a Titans fan. I still think the team hasn't been fun to watch.

Yeah, it is kind of fun watching a team with a six point lead with 0:01 left on the clock and the opponent pinned at the 1 yard line, just knowing that they're somehow going to lose.

I agree in 17 years is alot of time for any coach, even the ones who win Super Bowls or are perennial playoff contenders.

Fisher only had 6 playoff appearances in that time span (5 wins in 11 games) - a little over 35% of his seasons he made the playoffs and won 54.2% of his regular season games.

This is how Fisher stacks up against other modern coaches who are less tenured or without rings. Even coaches that critics have often criticized.

Brian Billick: 9 seasons; 55.6% winning percentage; 4 playoff appearances; and 5 wins (3 losses). 1 Super Bowl Ring.

Pete Carroll: 5 seasons; 50% winning percentage; 3 playoff appearances (let go after 8-8 season, after 2 winning seasons with the Pats); 2 wins (3 losses).

Tom Coughlin: 15 seasons; 55.4%; 8 playoff appearances (lives on the hot seat); 8 wins (7 losses). 1 Super Bowl Ring.

Jack Del Rio: 8 seasons; 50.8%; 2 playoff appearances; 1 win (2 Losses).

    Herm Edwards: 8 seasons; 42.2%; 4 playoff appearances; 2 wins (4 Losses).

Bill Cowher: 15 seasons; 62.3%; 10 playoff appearances; 12 wins (9 losses). 1 Super Bowl ring. 2 Super Bowl Appearances.

    John Fox: 9 seasons; 50.7%; 3 playoff appearances; 5 wins (3 losses).
    1 Super Bowl Appearance.

    John Harbaugh: 3 seasons; 66.7%; 3 playoff appearances; 4 wins (3 losses).

Tony Dungy: 13 seasons; 66.8%; 11 playoff appearances (4 with Tampa); 9 wins (10 losses). 1 Super Bowl Ring.

Mike McCarthy: 5 seasons; 60.0%; 3 playoff apperances; 4 wins (2 losses). 1 Super Bowl Appearance.

    Sean Payton: 5 seasons; 61.3%; 3 playoff appearances; 4 wins (2 losses).
    1 Super Bowl ring.

Andy Reid: 12 seasons; 61.8%; 9 playoff appearances; 10 wins (9 losses). 1 Super Bowl ring.

Mike Martz: 6 seasons; 62.4%; 4 playoff appearances; 3 wins (4 losses). 1 Super Bowl Appearance.

    Steve Mariucci: 9 seasons; 51.8%; 4 playoff appearances; 3 wins (4 losses).

    Wade Philips: 11 seasons; 51.6%; 5 playoff apperances; 1 win (5 losses).

Mike Shanahan: 17 seasons; 58.5%; 7 playoff appearances; 8 wins (5 losses). 2 Super Bowl victories.

Lovie Smith: 7 seasons; 56.3%; 3 playoff appearances; 3 wins (3 losses). We know how much Bears fans hate Hatie Smith, but do you really think they would be better with a coach like Fisher.

    Barry Switzer: 4 seasons; 62.5%; 3 playoff appearances; 5 wins (2 losses).

Omar Epps (lol, I couldn't resist); 4 seasons; 67.2%; 3 playoff appearances; 5 wins (1 loss). 1 Super Bowl Victory. 2 Super Bowl Appearances.

    Norv Turner: 13 seasons; 48.5%; 4 playoff appearances; 4 wins (4 losses).

Jon Gruden: 11 seasons; 54.0%' 5 playoff appearances; 5 wins (4 losses). 1 Super Bowl Victory.

I'm not even posting Bill Belichick's resume, because it just makes something glaring.

Two questions; Is it anyway possible that Fisher is top 7-10 among those coaches I listed.

Also, almost every coach on the list has at least 3 playoff appearances in almost 6 to 8 less seasons than Fisher; isn't possible to take some of the weaker coaches on that list and give them 17 seasons, and have same outcome as Fisher's current resume.

First thing I noticed while reading thru the rigamarole too. I agree with him though. Fisher is vastly overated.

Let not forget, if it wasn't the blown call during the music city miracle, he would have had 3 less playoff wins. He's a turd.
