[tinman special] Which of these former Rockets would you add to this team?

it was a tough choice, we do need more for Yao (low post, defense on low post) or help for Tmac (going ice cold in the playoffs, help defending the other teams 2)

Yep, this is my list in order: (all for the championships era)

OT (a great PF)
Maxwell (leadership and courage)
Cassell (better than rafer)
Kenny Smith (better than rafer)
Horry (clutch time and hustle)
Elie (clutch shots)

 

Point blank? It's like money in the bank. Otis Thorpe, to the hole, like a Bradley tank.

 

I picked OT. we'll just get rid of Hayes or something.

But I wouldn't mind having Ellie coming off the bench either. Forget Bonz, MJ, and SF.

 

I picked Maxwell, just because I'm scared not to.

 

OT - Would change this team. It would be incredible. His outlet passes alone would make having him worth it and he'd be a terrific fit next to Yao.

Kenny - We need a starting point who can work within the offense, shoot at a high percentage, and get the ball to players where they want it. Smith could do that. Not my favorite Rockets point (Lucas and Sam weren't on the list, as an example), but far superior to what we have.

Max - Gives us the fire in the belly we need on this squad. A streak shooter, but when hot, he was unstoppable. Would free Battier to guard slower players, instead of the best perimeter player every game, whether he matches up with them or not. Max could give Jordan fits. He sure as hell could drive today's perimeter players crazy.

McCray - Very underrated small forward. McCray could rebound, pass, defend, and shoot at a high percentage. We could trade Battier or have him come off the bench.


Some I'd want aren't on the list. These are my top choices of those that are.
