Fun thread: Lets see. I've met Cuttino Mobley, Kevin Willis and Robert Horry, when I worked at the Galleria. I also helped T-Mac working at the First Colony mall. Thats about all the Rockets I've met. But.... I've also met some other NBA players. I went to game 2 of the 94 finals and sat about 5 seats away from Alonzo Mourning and John Thompson. I also walked right by Bill Walton and Julius Erving at the same game. I saw Dennis Rodman (when he was with the Spurs) outside the Men's Club. LOL I met and helped Tim Duncan and Antonio Daniels at the Galleria in 1999. He was looking for a belt. It was weird ringing up the transaction and having Tim Duncan's Master Card in my hand. Last summer, I got a picture with Shaq. He was shopping at First Colony Mall.
I work at Buc-ee's in Madisonville, TX and I met Matt Bullard there. Non-Rockets I met there were Greg Ostertag and Kenyon Martin (I have no clue what he was doing there).
lol @ odd wardrobe. I've always respected the fact that he kept a low profile. In a sense, I've always felt somewhat sorry for NBA players- they get paid tons, but the majority seem to have little to no social life beyond basketball and partying...I know its a gross generalization, but its how their lives are portrayed in the media and so I buy it. Anyways, sorry for the random rant. On a side note, I met Calbert Cheaney once at 4th of July in DC. It was after he retired and he was sitting with his family. My friends and I debated for a while whether or not it was him or just some dude that looked like him, but then we finally mustered up the courage to walk up to him and ask: "are you calbert cheaney?" homeboy was totally shocked that we recognized him haha. I remember him mentioning something about Antoine Walker being annoying to play with in Boston....
Met Cuttino Mobley at a casino in Lake Charles. He was playing roulette, betting about $500 a pop on each of the Rockets' jersey numbers.
I've seen Robert Horry at an Astros game about four times he has seats in section 131 row 8 lol i asked him and he says he likes to go to about 5 or 10 a year i thought that was cool. I met Yao downtown houston once with my dad we were at some restaurant and we saw a group of people and then we saw yao, so that was cool..
Okay, back in '94 or '95, I was working at AIM Investments and had to work on a Saturday and the bulls were in town to play the Rockets. Well and a co-worker are walking outside to have a smoke, gave up the habit that same year, and when we turned the corner and I see Robert Horry talking to the security guard. I turn to my friend and say real loud "hey look it's Will Smith!!!" Me, my friend and the security guard bust out laughing and Robert Horry turns to me and says "ha ha ha, pretty funny." I shook his hand and ask why he wasn't next door getting ready for the game, he stated he had to see his agent. Found out later he missed that game saying that he was coming down with flu like symptoms. I think it was the only game he missed (well, besides the "almost" trade thing that happened). DJ Grind
In the twin tower era Hakeem lived in North Gate close to my family, and he came to a party my parents were hosting. We are a family of influential Doctors and he came by to pay his respect to the doctors in the community....I was like  when I saw him.
Seen Clyde every now and then since 1994. He was always my favorite player and idol growing up as a kid. He used to go to my friends parents drycleaner's on a regular basis back in the day when he was a Blazer and we'd trick or treat his house on Halloween. I saw him at the mall 2 days before he got traded to Houston. He was traded a day before my birthday. Becoming a Rockets fan was the coolest pre-birthday present ever. Cool story bro, I know. Played ball with Aaron Brooks on a regular basis since he was a freshman till the time I graduated at the rec center (UO). Never in my wildest dreams did I think he'd ever make it to the NBA let alone turn into a starter on my favorite team and make a name for himself in the league. A few years ago I posted a thread about meeting nearly all the Rockets at the time. They had just beaten the Blazers that night and their flight must not have been till next morning cause they came out to club. Meeting/seeing/drinking shots with them was probably one of the coolest experiences of my life. Saw Rod Strickland at the same club a year or two later and chatted him up about how he ended his career as a Rocket and he said something to the effect of it being a very un-glorious end. LOL.
Chase Budinger and Jordan Hill at Grand Lux Cafe. Sam Cassell at the Post Office. Tracy Mcgrady at Best Buy. Calvin Murphy at Sharpstown Mall. Mario Elie, Matt Maloney, Brent Price, and Hakeem Olajuwon at my elementary school track.
met Landry, Brookes, Brent Barry, Dikembe, Hayes, Horry. Landry - Played nba2k8 with him Brookes - Signed a hat and said "whats up" Barry - Asked me what Brookes was doing siging autographs at capitol one Dikembe - said "arhuahaehufh" and gave me a high five during fan appreciation day Hayes - said nothing, just high fived me at fan appreciation Horry - Looked at me and smiled as I was drunk off my ass at a club telling him how awesome when he was a rocket.
Me and Aaron Brooks' daughter vs AB in ping pong at Play Day last year Played Wii with Shane, Yao and Joey Dorsey 2 years ago (Joey beat me) Played Craps with Scola and Battier...Scola gave me all his chips when he had to leave... Met the rest of the team several times. If you want the opportunity to meet the players just become a season ticket holder. There are so many events every year where you get to hang out with the players...
A friend of mine got into a scuffle with a friend of Matt Maloney's on opening day of football a couple of years ago. The fight didn't have anything to do with him and he was actually extremely cool afterwards we ended up feeling like dicks because our friend could've easily avoided the fight. Met Hakeem at the book signing for his biography. Met Clyde when I used to bus tables at the Molina's on HWY 6 its was during the championship years and he came in to pick up a to go order. Everyone went nuts and his food must've gone cold as he signed autographs for pretty much the whole restaurant. At random points in bars I've seen/met: Hayes, Head, Alston, Boki, and Othella.
