Scola is the one who needs to go after missing 9 shots in a row

How about rebounds (6), assists (4) and blocked shots (2)? Who conjured up these stats?

Agreed, impressive stat line. Scola played well down the stretch, but he struggled early -- he missed a number of open mid-range Js, and couldn't find his groove in the 1st half. He balled out in the 4th, though.

Speed was not the issue today, esp. with Kobe's knee issues. You were absolutely right about Battier's immediate defensive impact after coming in late in the 4th - him directing our defense was a huge reason we were able to come back after being down 8. The Battier haters on this board are just, well, bluntly put, ignorant about basketball. His influence on the game cannot be ignored and frankly, we need him.

Regarding that Kobe layup, c'mon. It's Kobe. To paraphrase Phil Jackson, you gotta give him some ****ing credit. At this point Bud can make an excellent sixth man, but he hasn't come close to being able to replace Battier's role on this team yet.

+9 with him on the floor is +9 with him on the floor........
It is not a coincidence that this happens night in and night out. He isn't ripping up the nets or throwing down dunks like you would like to see, be the things he does equate to winning. +9 on the floor s a stat that people who get paid to make personnel decisions look at. Battier is starting and he is staying put. For now.

Something wrong with you dude with comments like that factious or not. He shot 20% and made some critical mistakes at the end. His +- is not demonstrative of his performance in this specific game and you know it.

I've always thought SB was a great asset in years past and defended him. This year he has declined considerably. We all like SB as a leader and a spokesman but c'mon it's obvious he isn't a starting 5 quality asset.

We really could use a rebounding SF. Gerald Wallace, or maybe Josh Smith (who is a more natural PF) would help us out. However, that doesn't help us when we need a clutch player in the fourth quarter. I don't envy Daryl Morey.

In this game....i feel bad about Battier...it makes want to get rid of the guy now. Dude use to shoot 3 automatic ....now he's horrible. On top of that...it seems his defense is not there anymore.

Battier was not the reason we lost this game. There is no reason to replace him in the starting lineup. He missed a few untimely shots but brought the same things he always does.

With that said... He is the weakest link in our starting 5.

Huge coincidence that the Rockets were down 8 when Battier came back in the last 4 minutes. Some of you younger guys need to quit watching the ball and watch the game. Not aimed at anyone in general, so if it don't apply then let it fly. But my momma always said that a hit dog will holler.........So if you take offense to this remark, please watch the game instead of the ball.
