Adelman doesn't want the uncertainty of turning over the roster in favor of better players that he has to wait to fit into his system. He wants in install his system into a ready made team that is championship quality and ready to contend. He needs to go to either the Lakers, the Heat, or possibly the Knicks where the core is already built and he can install his system.
I really wanted Turner because I thought he would maintain some cohesion and continue running the current offensive system. I really love the offensive system in place and dread the thought of going back to the days of watching the Rockets walk the ball up the court and run 23 second off the shot clock before taking a shot. I can only assume that DM told RA that developing young players for big wins in future seasons would have to be as big a priority as winning games in a season where there is no chance at a championship. As such I can only assume that being a disciple of RA, Elston Turner wants to focus solely on winning games today and let someone else worry about next season and therefor does not think he is the right man for the job.
In this season's draft, what would trading Kevin Martin alone get you? - Could you move into the top 10 of the draft? the top 5? - Would you have to package one of your other draft picks with KMart in order to move up into the top 5 or would that be enough? - What would make trading Kevin Martin worth it? - If you could bring in Alec Burks, Chris Singleton and either Enes Kanter or Bismack Biyombo would that be worth Kevin Martin and Luis Scola?
